So what just happened in my world?

That's not strictly true; they don't care whether you put those grass blocks on your lawn yourself or whether worldgen did. They care about block type. I assume they may also lead to the loss of items (eg torches) attached to the blocks they take out, though this may've been accounted for.

    Trouble getting Oily Bees

Bear in mind use of certain frames (eg nova) may prevent biome-specific mutations from occurring.

    Bees and Foundation Blocks

Reminds me a little of this guy's problem, where attempting to flatline the life span of his bees when aiming for a biome-specific mutation screwed him up. If you were using oblivion frames, that may've been part of the problem. I gather necrotic frames otherwise aren't as effective as...

How's water function as far as fall damage goes, these days? If I drop a mob 30-40 blocks into one block deep water, does it go splat?

    I got a trick question :)

You might be thinking of a different hopper, perhaps - this one does.

    Monitoring player locations

I'm not aware of anything that can do this, but CC 1.6 will be introducing PDAs - computers you can carry around with you. A beta is available, but although it gives you access to these new systems, they don't have modem functionality yet and the build as a whole isn't stable at all. But in...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

No, sorry. BC power was specifically intended to not be "storable", so BC itself offers no such block. To be clear, TE's energy cells no longer store BuildCraft's MJs (Minecraft Joules). They now store Thermal Expansion's RF (Redstone Flux). If you connect a conduit from a cell to a machine...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

Only TE dynamos can feed energy cells, as they'll only take in RF and those dynamos are currently the only source. In theory, you can use other systems to feed those dynamos though - eg, with steam.

Forge for 1.7 has been released

Once all your mods are installed, your performance is gonna take a dip anyways, so... What I suspect is that even with a new forge, it'll take a while before the "scene" moves on to 1.7 (let alone 1.8). I guess we'll see. I'm of the impression that everyone's started jumping on to 1.6 just...

    OpenBlocks Graves disabled on purpose?

I've a memory that someone mentioned that the leaf thing is intentional, but I don't recall anyone explaining the reason for it. There's a setting somewhere... It may or may not be worth noting that graves won't always spawn - say you go for a dive in the void. Typically in these cases you'd've...

    OpenBlocks Graves disabled on purpose?

Apparently, there's a conflict with some other mod which means that the graves correctly stop your items from popping out everywhere but do not store your items on death. Meaning that every death guarantees you'll lose all your items. Should be easy enough to test whether it affects your...

    Computercraft Text Size

Well, CCLights could be used for the sort of thing you're after (if it's installed), but I gather it plays havoc with bandwidth usage and it's probably overkill for your purposes. ComputerCraft has a "paint" API of its own, but that considers one whole character to be a "pixel" so you don't...

    Computercraft Text Size

Assuming your monitor is wrapped as eg "monitor", then you can change its text size by calling monitor.setTextScale(). This changes all text that's currently on the monitor - you can't assign two different scales to the one monitor at the same time. Monitor blocks will always attempt to...

a kill all entity and mobs command?

For all the purposes of despawning, dryads act much like regular domestic animals. As in, they don't.

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

For the most part, tree chopping turtles are unaffected by trees growing around them. However, many trees from mods may occasionally delete turtles if they happen to grow over them at the wrong moment (biomes'o'plenty, I'm looking at you). One of my choppers cuts up vanilla oaks, which best I...

    Safari net and openPeripherals

Doesn't look like there is, best I can make out. This may be version-dependent, though - as OpenPeripheral has to deal with a lot of other mods, functionality comes and goes.

Urgency?! The shady? future of modded minecraft

I'd like to think this is all there is to it - I really would, as I often like to spout on about how "we'd all be better off if Mojang stopped updating" - but if this were really the case (modders giving up just because "Mojang's update broked things") I suspect the major modders would just...
