Hello, I'd like to share with you all how storing energy in BuildCraft works.

No. I believe this is still in as Covert mentioned it yesterday in the SpaceToad thread. Not the most useful though, I don't think, as there is still perdition and you still can't reduce the energy output from said loop to zero as the Iron Kinesis Pipes can only filter to 2MJ/t.

Hello, I'd like to share with you all how storing energy in BuildCraft works.

I've actually seen very few, if any, attacking the devs. And for educating others, I'd not phrase it as 'energy storage' but instead explain more directly why BuildCraft doesn't have energy storage. That's a better method than trying to convince people that fuel tanks are energy storage and...

Hello, I'd like to share with you all how storing energy in BuildCraft works.

I'm still not sure that I'd call it energy storage. You're storing the potential to create energy, but not the energy itself. It's no different than a hopper of coal next to a engine, dynamo, or generator. You can create energy from it but it, in and of itself, is not yet energy. Unless...

Why don't people like IC2 anymore?

Untrue. Successors just mean that they 'succeed' in the definition to 'to follow or replace'. Strictly speaking IC2exp is, by definition, the successor to IC2 and IC.

Hello, I'd like to share with you all how storing energy in BuildCraft works.

You're confusing whining and trying to give feedback. Amazingly enough, many are fine that BuildCraft is choosing that direction, but aren't going to use it as it doesn't suit their tastes. I'm one of those people. I'm all fine with BuildCraft being lossy and not-traditionally-storable, but...

Why don't people like IC2 anymore?

Just because there are some mods that have those really easy aspects, that does not follow that everyone uses them. I don't have Morph on my modpack for that very reason. And while I might be able to grow diamonds with Magical Crops, the amount of magical essence needed for that is truly...

    Spacetoad is back to modding

Right. I forgot about that one due to it's insanely incredible inefficiency back in 1.4.7. >.< Maybe I should check to see if it's gotten better since.

I know that Railcraft has MJ -> EU though the Steam Boiler and Steam Turbine, but I know of no EU production through Forestry. Can you enlighten us?

Why should the onus be on only KL to do so. I know that Forestry has one-way compatibility from EU to MJ. What makes that acceptable but the one-way RF->MJ not? Ah. The more you know. Thanks. ^.^

I though Forestry was in the good hands of MysteriousAges.

I'll be sad to see the support go if it does, though I'll hope for a config option to keep flawless compat.

That's not his sole problem with the API IIRC.

That is for reasons of efficiency, which I can respect as a major part of TE is efficiency. The onus for compatibility is not solely on KingLemming. It is also not solely on you and BC. It would be nice, though, to see some real cooperation between both mods on finding a solution instead of...

    Spacetoad is back to modding

Most of us aren't doing that. My sole reason for using RF over MJ is that BC doesn't give my anything I need and I prefer lossless on-demand systems over lossy constant systems. I don't dislike BC. It just doesn't currently fit my needs. And forcing me to use all of it just to use one...

You can also use Extra Utilities' Energy Transfer Node to do the same.

    Spacetoad is back to modding

I'd personally love a built-in method to transfer MJ to RF, though the onus shouldn't necessarily be on Thermal Expansion. Especially as it's no longer simply a BC addon, but a mod unto itself. I honestly think that BC should add a method to implement the transferrance as it would be cleaner...

    Spacetoad is back to modding

It's a simple method of mod intercompatibility. I, personally, prefer when I can use one mod's power systems to power another. Having a power system all off to itself like a private walled garden makes me want to avoid using it as I then need to double up on everything. TE isn't holding BC...

I wasn't claiming that mods moved from MJ support. Just saying that many players did. As for KL removing BC support? That, I believe, was a move for operational efficiency.

    Spacetoad is back to modding

This seems to be a problem caused by having a vision and sticking to it. And there is nothing wrong with that. BC has a vision for how power should run. KL politely disagreed with said vision and made his own. The larger community looked at both and many/most chose RF. That's no indictment...

What will 1.7 look like without Binnie's Mods (ExtraBees) ?

I must be in the minority in that I'm missing ExtraTrees more than ExtraBees. I just like all the pretty woods. >.< I actually dropped bees from my current modpack for now, replacing it with Magical Crops. It may not get all of what bees can do, but it's different and new and maybe with a...
