    Thermal Expansion Status

Makes perfect sense to me. An occasional showing of awesome pictures every now and again like this is awesome, though. Gives us all something to look forward to. ^.^

The purple ones, I think, seem to be the 'creative' versions. So, technically, they're not the final tier.

    Thermal Expansion Status

Does that mean that each tier is just harder to destroy than the previous and they're all the same size, or does it mean that they do get bigger on upper tiers but are still smaller than IronChests?

Or, you know, a king. ^.^ Love the mod and look forward to seeing the new version it as it develops.

I've not used the updated pipes yet, so I can't tell you what I think of them. If you still find them to be unbearable, though, you might want to try EnderIO's liquid conduit or Extra Utilities' liquid transfer nodes. Just because the current implementation of pipes doesn't suit your needs...

While mods often take into account what other mods do, it is not a necessity for them to. Not all mods need to be balanced among all other mods. So long as it's balanced around itself, which it is, then it's balanced. The problem is, not that BC liquid transport pipes are too slow but that...

Much higher than that.. Compressed air energy storage is a thing. Theoretical efficiency of 100% and actual efficiency of 70% for one implementation. I couldn't find 'in-practice' numbers for the other implementations.

Building many differing entire systems is fun to some. Simplifying down to as few as possible and continually improving their efficiency is fun to others. I'm in that second camp. I like building for efficiency in both space and server load. So I always strive for as few networks as possible...

25% loss is far too much. Very few conversion technologies have such a high loss. I can understand such a high loss on wireless power transmission such as is done by a tesseract, but the loss should not be that high simply for conversion. Maybe 5% as was previously done by TE conduit?

Heck yes. If you got the aesthetic feel right then it'd be great. And if you did it right then it really could become a mainstay in modpacks. I was ... halfway thinking of doing similar myself, but it's been years since I've really coded in Java.

Power Converters, though, provided nearly completely lossless conversion that could be ... abused. That and it's aesthetics are lacking. It's aesthetics match it's own theme, but none of the components match the themes of the systems it's converting to and from.

Is the problem that there are too many different kinds of power networks or that there is too little ability for simple, if lossy, conversion?
  14. S

    Thermal Expansion Status

True. It doesn't. But without being able to create at least a modest surplus of power, the inverters would see little use as you won't have enough spare power to run other machines. They'd become about as used as RedPower's Blulectric engine, which while great in principle didn't hold up as...

Hmm. If the conversion will be more RF > MJ/EU, then there will need to be lots of power generation added to mod. As you don't want to basically recreate Power Converters have you considered a RF 'steam engine' equivalent to utilize boilers?
  16. S

    Thermal Expansion Status

So would the inverters be converting to or from RF?
  17. S

I'm curious as to what other mod devs would be joining in on using RF. I wonder how many of them have previously been using MJ and wish to move to a more efficient and less wasteful platform. Maybe MFR?

    Thermal Expansion Status

Let's hope the power conversion is built into TE. Needing another mod to make two work together that always did in the past would be unfortunate.

I do love TE. It's honestly the only reason I ever used MJ. Without TE using MJ what, aside from quarries, will MJ actually be useful for now? I don't think I'm the only one that likes simplified power networks, not only for aesthetics but also for server performance. Now my network may be...
