DW20 and the paradox of choice

    Yes, that's why I like them :-)

Why so many tech power/processing mods in one pack

Praise the Lord the modded community has since evolved beyond the ore processing and quarrying/auto-mining popularity contest era. As much as I admire and respect Reika, I him the credit for jumping the shark on that one. For 99.999% of players, it doesn't matter whether you have 1K diamonds or...

DW20 and the paradox of choice

eIO has since surpassed TE in terms of logistics handling. Besides allowing for items, fluids, power, and redstone control in 1 block/space, eIO has better control and its item conduits are far less buggy than TE itemducts. Its Dimensional Transceiver is also better than the Tesseract, IMHO. In...

Why so many tech power/processing mods in one pack

eIO started out as a "all cables/conduits in 1 block" mod". It has since grown into a much larger, more encompassing mod that has power generation, lots of machines, and more. It was an obscure mod until almost all of the modded community jumped from 1.5 to 1.6 with MJ, but TE2 hadn't arrived...

    [1.7.10][LISTED] InfiTech 2 Modpack v3.2.21 [HQM][GregTech balanced hard-mode modpack]

Ah, good ! Very glad you're enjoying the pack so far and your experience is common. It's what most people seem to experience in a new world. Tin used to be found only from Y=80 and up, which made it hard to find early-game. It's now found as low as 40, I believe, which makes it much easier to...

What mods do you feel have been ignored?

I didn't like GregTech until this pack :-)

    [1.7.10][LISTED] InfiTech 2 Modpack v3.2.21 [HQM][GregTech balanced hard-mode modpack]

@seanbrockest Re: Genetics Binnie's Mods As @Jason McRay said, it's part of Binnie's Mods. It's a beautiful mod, but it's basically in 'alpha' stage right now and will remain there for an undetermined amount of time. It has compatibility issues with GregTech (super-slow loading - you can...

    [1.7.10][LISTED] InfiTech 2 Modpack v3.2.21 [HQM][GregTech balanced hard-mode modpack]

My 2 cents - I don't recommend PFAA for this pack. I've used PFAA before and it's a very interesting oregen, but this pack works much better with GT 5 oregen. PFAA uses (requires) CustomOreGen, so there are really only 2 options: 1. Use pack as-is and use GT 5 orgen 2. Enable CustomerOreGen and...

    [1.7.10][LISTED] InfiTech 2 Modpack v3.2.21 [HQM][GregTech balanced hard-mode modpack]

My .jpg file is a public URL in Imgur. You and anyone else are free to use it. I spent ~5 minutes on it in stoneage MS Paint and it needs work with the color/luminosity transition/gradient, but it gets the job done for now. If someone else can make a prettier banner, please share !

    Thaumcraft Automation

Another upgrade with TC 4.x that would be appreciated is a remote way to transport Vis. A 'Vis Mirror' or some such would be very cool. Another candidate for Vis upgrade is the Alchemical Furnace. It currently uses charcoal or coal. I'd like to see an upgraded (Tier 2 version) powered by Ignis...

    The Compact Base Challenge

Is it within the rules to cheat-in a bedrock block inside the proscribed volume ?

What mods do you feel have been ignored?

If you want to play a "full" 1.7.10 pack (no HQM, has tons of tech and magic, and cosmetic/vanity mods to make one's base look better), then you'd be hard-pressed to find a pack more polished than Infitech2. The pack has received considerable config and script tweaking and is as balanced as any...

    The Compact Base Challenge

Well done !!! I really like the extra fluorishes, like Blood Magic, Thaumcraft, and Bibliocraft :-) Also, TiCo for ore processing is an interesting (good) choice.

Trying to make FTB longer and more rewarding

I second this. I, too, became bored with DW20 and DW20-like packs. So, I put aside my initial dislike of GregTech and gave it a shot. I now love it. I've been playing @Jason McRay 's excellent Infitech (for 1.6.4) and Infitech2 (for 1.7.10) for over 6 months now and am loving it. This is by...

    Thaumcraft Automation

Problem with this is getting the Perdito to the Arcane Bore. AFAIK, Charged Nodes can't be moved and maintain their status. I have experimented with turning off the charged node bubble and the results aren't good - the node loses a lot of its vis :-( The Arcane Bore has a finite range. Even...

    The Compact Base Challenge

Great ideas !! However, I'm not sure the Creative Energy Cell is available in survival and even if it is, that kind of breaks the spirit of the challenge.

Yes, that's the whole point of steps 1 through 3 :-)

    Thaumcraft Automation

LOL. This is a great story and why I like modded MC so much :-) I'm not as brave as you, my friend. I tried to bully a huge corrupted node into an even larger, shielded pure node, but the corrupted node would have none of that. The lightning effects would fire and it seemed the bullying was...
