    Recommended Progression Through Modded Minecraft

Why, keep repeating until you achieve perfection, of course !

    Help With Electric Blast Furnace?

LOL. I love UNG_God's videos. If you can understand his heavy accent, he has a very dry sense of humor. He also provides a lot of great info and details.

    Recommended Progression Through Modded Minecraft

Updated step 1 from "like it" to "didn't dislike it" :-)

Why so many tech power/processing mods in one pack

Thanks ! I had forgotten about that step. I added that just now.

    [1.7.10][LISTED] InfiTech 2 Modpack v3.2.21 [HQM][GregTech balanced hard-mode modpack]

Speaking of AE2, it looks like you could do AE2 in this pack in the LV (32v) era, assuming you have the following: 1. Reliable power source 2. Sufficient quantities of quartz, redstone, diamonds, and gold 3. eIO Alloy Smelter (for the silicon) 4. Have found the necessary AE2 plates (3 or 4...

    [1.7.10][LISTED] InfiTech 2 Modpack v3.2.21 [HQM][GregTech balanced hard-mode modpack]

No, you need those. If you don't collect those, you'll need EV (2048v) machines to make them. The AE2 inscriber plate thingies are used in the GT machines. The AE2 recipes that now use GT machines rather than the AE2 Inscriber are pretty much the same, with only minor differences. GT...

    Recommended Progression Through Modded Minecraft

As follows is an example recommended progression through modded MC that aims to set expectations and meet those expectations: 1. [OPTIONAL] Play vanilla MC. If you didn't dislike it, go to step 2. 2. Play a general-purpose, commonly-used pack that has good supporting videos, ex. DW20. If you...

Why so many tech power/processing mods in one pack

Perhaps we, the community, need to do a better job of setting expectations and providing some basic recommendations in terms of what to expect from a pack and what not to expect from a pack. Here's an example of a recommended progression algorithm that should result in expectations set and...

Silverwood and magical forest DW20 1.7

^^^^ This Whenever I'm playing with a biome-generator mod (ex. BoP, EXBL, Highlands), I've learned to expect biomes from vanilla or other mods such as TC to be effectively non-existent until/unless I tame the biome-generator mod via its config. Fortunately, the major biome-generator mods are...

DW20 and the paradox of choice

Agreed. 8km square and no deserts is a worldgen biome problem, not a BC problem. Are you using EXBL ? The default worldgen for some/all 1.7.10 versions can produce crazy(frustrating) worlds like that. My world didn't have any vanilla Jungle or Ocean biomes until I turned off all the EXBL biomes...

Why so many tech power/processing mods in one pack

Infitech2 is another 1.7 GT pack with countless time and attention to details. The pack has been around since 1.6, i.e. quite mature and bug-free at this point.

    [1.7.10][LISTED] InfiTech 2 Modpack v3.2.21 [HQM][GregTech balanced hard-mode modpack]

What @Pyure said. This is not an easy pack, but we're glad to help.

End Game(mods that provide something for it)[1.7.10]

Sad, but true. Greg is apparently working on other stuff. Even though very few people *actually* build one, it's still a great carrot-on-a-stick.

Salt - ideas for uses of

As an aside, minetweaker has proved itself to be one the most useful tools in packmaker's toolchests. Its extent has reached into the modded community, too. Modders can now worry less about balance, counting on modtweaker and configs to balance their mod for them in whatever pack they are...

Salt - ideas for uses of

Yeah, even GT 5 doesn't have much of a use for batteries beyond the energy buffer boxes, i.e. GT 5 versions of the MFE, MFSU, etc.,. However, you could force (encourage) the use of salt by requiring some/many energy consumers or energy producer recipes to use batteries in tweaked versions of...

End Game(mods that provide something for it)[1.7.10]

No Fusion Reactor in GT 5 for MC 1.7.10, sadly. The replacement is a 1-block Naquedah reactor. Not that impressive, IMHO. The most impressive end-game accomplishemtn in GT 5 is probably UU-matter. And, I think Naquedah or Osmium are the rarest and most expensive things. So, if this is a 1.7.10...

Salt - ideas for uses of

In tech packs, salt is used to make batteries. You can then minetweak recipes for other tech blocks and items to use those batteries.

    AE2 P2P tunnels

AE2 is slightly less centralized than AE1. You don't have to have a controller, for instance, for every AE2 sub-system. Here's what would do : demarcate areas of your base (i.e. draw a real or imaginary boundary) and decide what items you need to import into that area and what items you need to...
