That would be 1.4.7, and Greg Tech stopped really being updated around 1.7.10 If you really want Greg Tech, I suggest Infinitech 2, or GT:New Horizons, both of which are heavily built around GT.
If your pack has forestry, you can breed bees to get refractory wax and that will let you make fireproof wood. Which as you might guess, is wood that's fireproof. It looks no different though.
Need a theme or design intention for that sort of thing. On the other hand, MC treats everything as a mod, so that 200 mods is probably 150 and 50 libraries.
Honestly Kitchen sinks are designed to be trimmed down. (Or machete'd smaller.) All them being in a pack means is someone's gone through and made sure they'll all play nicely.
You might be best off building your own pack. It's not desparately hard. Go to the Twitch Launcher and Create a custom profile then start adding the mods. Twitch will grab any libraries or other background dependencies automatically. Then it's just play testing to see if it's all going to work...
