That is caused by high flux in your area - but the effects if that do not cause explosions (especially not any of such proportions). [edit] Of course, lightning strikes are caused by high flux and can start a fire. But explosions? Must've been something in your base.

Remove your shortcut on your desktop, google how to write a 3 or 4 line long bat file, link to that on your desktop, have the important parts backed up everytime you start the launcher. It's an emergency solution, but it gets the job done. ;)

Better yet, think of relays as inventory-extenders. Take a sawmill that is used as a supply for planks that are burned in a boiler. By itself, the sawmill has 1 inventory slot that can hold wooden logs. Place a relay next to a (TE-blue) side of it and have redpower tubes or an item tesseract...
