    GT makes everything take ages to load. on the subject of java 8, its given me nothing but issues thus far, i kinda gave up on it for now.

    Load the launcher up click the tab that says "options" go to the button at the bottom of the page that says "Advanced options" and click it. Copy the JVM arguments i listed in my quote and paste them into the area that says "Additional Java Parameters" Click Exit and then try running a game :P

    5.75 GB?! You must of missed the memo about Java and ram, anything over 4 gig is wasted and you can launch this pack on 2 ... i do it but i'm using someone elses Java args too, so i dont have to allocate insane amounts of ram to the game.

    I dont know how to do it with the FTB launcher, but its pretty easy on multimc, there is a guide on how to use multimc earlier in the thread.

    If thats the case, Jason may of packed the wrong version of forge in the file, the 1.1.6 version uses 2023 if memory serves? Either that, or your download didnt work properly try that first. then try removing the older version of forge from the game folder. if you cant do this, you may need to...

    Ive set up shop right next to the biome that contains my Fortress ... found the mother of all limonite nodes nearby, by mother of all, i mean its got to be at least 10 chunks ... maybe more. ive also found a pyrite vein and even diamonds (about 300 or so meters north) - tin only seems to occur...

    Having varieties of fruit can help, juice and fruit salad will get you buy as you start up. I also just realised i spent the day searching for quartzite and i dont want a low voltage laser engraver -_-

    *Blinks* 90% of that just went over my head ... i havnt been able to find quartzite for that stupid etcher, so im stuck in LV land, i wonder if it wouldnt be worth seeing if you can add nether quartz into the recipe instead of just plain quartzite? :P ill confess, i just suck at mining with this...

    Pitchblende, Uraninite and U238 will not give you radiation sickness in their ore and crushed forms, dusts, nuggets and (blobs?) will give you between 5-20 mins of sickness as far as im aware. but you usually die long before any real time has run down, afaik the only way to avoid the damage is...

    Yes and no, the oregen is totally overhauled so it may take you some time to find certain stuff, but dont let that dissuade you - its fun :D

    Protip 2: Certain items if you want to make them into base products, smelt them in the impure dust form. For ex: Malachite, if you just want the copper bars? smelt it in impure dust form, if you smelt it as just plain malachite then you only get 6 nuggets... :p Also: in the steam age, Macerate...

    Not the BC one, nope. It may of a long time ago, but i dont recall needing it even back in Tekkit for 1.2.5.

    Thats weird, the IC2 ones are disabled by default due to GT.

    If you feel like experimenting with java, go back to one of the first posts on the thread about page 9? i think. @MigukNamja posted some java args that really chop down how much memory the pack needs, i can launch on 2Gb now and its a hell of alot more stable/fast since then.

    Thermal centrifuge can be used to process nuclear fuel, if im remembering correctly it basically replaces the IC2 one - @Pyure will be able to tell you if im correct or not, i'm still faffing around with LV turbines here ...
