    Add Mekanism and give her an armored jetpack, and free-runners to protect from fall damage. These can be autocrafted easily. She can fly away if overwhelmed too. Add a flamethrower for extra fun :)

    I'd have the Internet connection anyway. Don't have numbers on the electricity, might be interesting to plug one of those meters that records usage. I like being in control over the hardware and managing it all myself. Part of the fun.

    I run a small server from my house. Modest specs, an i7 CPU with 16GB ram, small SSD drive. Runs two modpacks with about 70ish mods without issues. Small player base.

    You won't have a permanent base at first. You can't do it all at once. You'll have a shack while you acquire resources. At some point you'll hit a critical mass of stuff and you can start building what you really want. Then you'll make a nice place. Then you'll progress more and change it...

    I'd rather use enderio if possible, it's a cleaner solution if it works. Old threads suggest it can harvest ore berries, not just exp berries. I'd need a bunch of harvesters to be as effective, they work slower as you as range upgrades and I have a largish area.
