So how much hotbar space do you have spare?

For a while in modded minecraft history I found myself not really hurting for hotbar space, but recently, I find myself searching for things to take off my bar more and more. I had the drills from industrialcraft early on, and then the power fist from MPS that made hotbar space less of a...

Thought so, Yeah If the diamond chisel is just "the chisel that changes already placed blocks" I think that could work, but if it's indicative of an intention to add some sort of tier system in the future, I'm worried. That and, as I mentioned, the tendency for the devs to keep changing the...

I genuinly fear for the future of chisel... A diamond chisel, and in the last release (2.2.0) the auto chisel started getting upgrades and upgrade slots... Chisel's beauty is/was it's simplicity. Then there's the auto-chisel. Since it's conception it's never worked properly. In older versions...

    Early Botania Mana Garden

Actually, that setup is double layered in such a way that there are four 2x2x2 pools, and each 2x2x1 layer only has two flowers pulling from it, one in each corner. Since hydroangeas can only pull water from their 8 adjacent blocks, none of those pools will ever run out. But since you're on...

    Early Botania Mana Garden

i fill the holes with more dayblooms, just a level lower ;) now that I think of it, I'm not entirely sure if that actually works, the book's description of the loss means it should, but I'm going to have to test to be sure. I've now tested it, and after a few hours with two different setups...

    Early Botania Mana Garden

floating flowers means you can fill the spaces between the flowers with water, then theres less of a chance for them to suck up a water combination that won't refill itself, although it's still possible in the 8x8 setup. The floating flowers also opens up a myriad of other setup options that...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

Looking through the changelogs for reika's mods, I thought shaft junctions were upgradeable with bedrock, does anyone know how/if this works, NEI is no help in this and I can't figure it out. Originally I thought it was the torsion resistance upgrade, but I can't figure out how to add it to the...

    Overated/Problematic/Misused Mods

I'm thinking of just dropping this now, since it's getting to the point where I could reply to people by quoting things I've already stated, and they either haven't read or haven't understood... Re-read my posts on the subject. I never said minetweaker wasn't successful, I never said it was...

    basic Botania Flower farm

I had a timer set to two minutes I think?... the two dayblooms provided enough mana for that. really you could just set the dayblooms down and set the timer to any interval you want, it'll fire on the interval when it has enough, and won't when it doesn't - not a big deal.

    basic Botania Flower farm

I use the hopperhock and a drum for mine aswell, just have to make sure it's away from anywhere I normally drop things. one or two dayblooms seem to send a pulse to the drum at good enough intervals.

    Modpack Release

DW20 doesn't change recipes to balance anything. there are ~15 recipe changes in the DW20 pack. 14 or so are just RF versions of the binniesmods machines, which I don't think are available any other way. the other recipe change is to fix a conflict with chisel and something else, botany, i think.

    Overated/Problematic/Misused Mods

you're reiterating a point I made, and using it as an argument... what? All I'm saying is that minetweaker can and has been overused, and glorified, by pack devs to change understandable and coherent recipes to recipes that don't make sense, in the name of balance.

    Overated/Problematic/Misused Mods

That aside, in general, each mod is designed to be played seperately, or stand on its own in a pack. Those that are designed to be played together show it and work reasonably well with recipe changes between them, see my example of MFR, EnderIO, and TE. However, combining mods that don't mix...

    Overated/Problematic/Misused Mods

I think I've struck some kind of nerve, It's like minetweaker is the holy grail or something... playing modded minecraft for years, you get to know the general materials needed for most items fairly easily, and memorising new ones gets easier and easier... I'm not saying I know every recipe for...

    Overated/Problematic/Misused Mods

So you look up the chest recipe every time you want to craft a chest? You don't know roughly what materials to invest in when you want to make some transfer pipes? you work through mod X all the way, get up to that awesome item you want, then you check the recipe for the item, and it turns out...

    Overated/Problematic/Misused Mods

And this is exactly the problem with minetweaker, being used to implant someone's idea of "balance". balance does not necessarily equal fun, or a good pack. by endgame everything is "overpowered" the only difference is how quick you get there, and that's entirely up to the player. There's always...

    Overated/Problematic/Misused Mods

Minetweaker definitely has it's uses, themed packs and recipe conflicts among the top. But there are quite a few packs that seem to put it in "just because". You enter into the pack knowing there may be some recipe changes, but they're just balance or tweaking. Then you go to make something and...
