    Recent Events Discussion (RED) Thread

I thought it was more that the world is generated in cubic chunks (16^3), but lighting is done in 256-high chunks, because checking 256 blocks (for sunlight) is faster than checking thousands of blocks high. I don't expect propagating light like torches would be affected in any way. I believe...

    Forge and Nova

Eh, I'll blame it on my university lecturers being biased... Still, the difference could matter on really intensive things, like some, probably specific games. The big game engines tend to still be c++ for the core stuff, with another language for scripting.

    Forge and Nova

Have higher level languages caught up with c++ in terms of speed yet? As far as I knew that was/is it's biggest advantage, it's fast as hell. People just have a hard time wrapping their head around pointers and memory management... It's been a while...

    [Direwolf 20 1.7] 1.0.3 Wither Killer

The wither's bounding box is 4 tall, 1 wide and 1 deep once spawned, so it easily escapes through 1x1 holes in any surface vertically. It can also glitch through blocks when confined to a space only 3 high, since it's 4 blocks tall. I would expect escape to be a fairly common occurrence when...

Really stupid things that people have said about Modded MC(Off topicness makes moderators tired)

I'm not sure how you can 'give' yourself a 'render'. a 'renderer' yes, but a 'render'... huh? I'm guessing you're giving yourself a special debug renderer in a dev environment to point out variables and stuff. No reasonable person would give a damn about that... either that or an awesome...

Curse Client, FTB Packs and Linux

That friends panel... so do not want. I wonder if we'll be able to hide stuff like that and/or just not login to (what I assume is) the curse friends stuff. I also wonder if that's going to stay connected in the background of minecraft and do steam-esque community things... I'll try not to get...

Mod Feedback [By Request] RotaryCraft Suggestions

I've been thinking about the extractor some more and theoretically I think I can get around my speed worries with the toggle solution by just adding another extractor under the same setup. If I can time it perfectly then the extractor would switch between the two power states just as it finishes...

Mod Feedback [By Request] RotaryCraft Suggestions

I don't think tesseracts transport electricraft power, and magnetostatics got a big nerf so they require liquid nitrogren, though I'm not sure that would be incredibly difficult to mass produce and tesseract around along with RF at this type of endgame stage. Why wouldn't you run stacks of...

Mod Feedback [By Request] RotaryCraft Suggestions

I suspected this was the case. I'm still not entirely fond of the toggle setup, but unless I use insane amounts of power it's still the fastest. oh wow, I didn't realise how little the rad/s actually affected the boring machine's speed until now (I just ran one at 1rad/s v 1024 rad/s, it went...

Mod Feedback [By Request] RotaryCraft Suggestions

I've been using high power for the extractor mainly because I didn't want to use a timer and a toggle switch of some sort, it slows things down more than my liking. Is there a way to remove the middle stage products from the extractor, to switch between two different extractors or something...

Mod Feedback [By Request] RotaryCraft Suggestions

Is there no intended way to get more than 268(ish)MW out of electricraft? I'm getting to the point in game where reactorcraft is coming into the spotlight, and it's hard to imagine being able to use all the power I'll be making, especially when it means at least 4 auroral batteries in order to...

Really stupid things that people have said about Modded MC(Off topicness makes moderators tired)

http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/overated-problematic-misused-mods.55997/page-9#post-854729 last relevant post is page 11 I think. I got a bit of what seemed like ignorance when I posted that, people defending minetweaker/modtweaker without actually listening to my argument and point...

Really stupid things that people have said about Modded MC(Off topicness makes moderators tired)

I adore the fact that RC has a 'no modification' policy, it means whenever and wherever I load it up, its the same, no learning new stupid recipes... so refreshing. (I made a big rant about this on the overused/overhyped mods thread a while back).

If you want to censor the name completely, you missed one in the third post, and fourth (in the quote).

rhn's continued adventures: a build journal, guide collection etc.

I have to ask now, what's hot, warm, normal and cold for? (I assume that top one is 'hot'?)

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

As far as I know, the heater takes any kind of fuel; coal, wood, lava. The better the fuel, the more it heats up, putting a lava bucket in probably rapidly exceeds the maximum heat level.

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

I've been playing around with rotarycraft, reactorcraft and electricraft recently. Loads of fun :). I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but Is there anyway to increase the output of electricraft batteries? I ask because it seems odd that at endgame reactorcraft can generate 900MW with a single...

    Recent Events Discussion (RED) Thread

This. Config != Options menu Generally mods fall into the 'config' category, since lots of the config settings in modded minecraft usually require re-initialisation of some sort which is just easier and safer to do by restarting the game, rather than hacking some way around it while the game...

    Recent Events Discussion (RED) Thread

I know it's there, and I bet a lot of other people do to, but I much prefer editing configs in text files. They're simple and clean, and there's no clumsy buttons in the way. I also know when I edit a value, the value is definitely edited, there's nothing between me and that config option, its...

    Early Botania Mana Garden

It still baffles me that people use nightshades at all. It only takes one more layer to add dayblooms in the spaces between the checkerboards, and they produce more mana :p (atleast the book says nightshades work half as fast...)
