Transporting MJ over a long distance (Mindcrack)

A radically easier solution is minecarts moving biofuel. If you're concerned about distance, consider using Mystcraft gates. If you're too early for a linkbook editor block you don't need to sweat; just take a 1-block detour through the Nether. This is my preferred way of moving lots of things...

    The most underused starting strategies?

Why do you go for coke ovens so early? Just so you've got a strategic reserve of creosote oil?

    The most underused starting strategies?

I was watching a Let's play the other evening for another modpack where someone actually started from scratch and I saw them begin their initial smelting without building a slag furnace from factorization. "Slag Furnace!" I shouted. "Slag Furnace! Slag Furnace!" It's the earliest access to ore...

    Redpower 2 Managers

Routers also have the nice property of stopping their action once something is full. Two routers (one with ejector) can keep a whole fleet of fermenters running.

Do players actually like emulated computers in minecraft?

Personally, I loathe Python. It is a language who's community revels and glorifies being stupid ignoring advances in programming made in the 1980s. It is a language who's author is an incredibly cynical man who will publicly say, "Every time I look at code with lambdas I scratch my head" and...

    Logic Matrix Programmer

Is Factorization open source? It'd be easy to fix this problem if it was. I'd also love to give a whack at offering a patch to make the machines talk to Universal Electricity. It'd be a nice warm up for my other project.

    Thaumcraft Room

I have barrels and barrels of various tree, grass, and growth aspects. I had to switch to barrels of phials for these.

Do players actually like emulated computers in minecraft?

I've decided to move forward with the project, although in a slight different direction. I really think it's a bummer that people HAVE to rely on redpower2 to make good sorting systems. And I think the Sortron is an awesome idea, but ludicrously complex to use. Programmable sorters and cyclical...

    Logic Matrix Programmer

Factorization is in dire need of some touchup work. Someone should wire it into universal electricity; then it'd suddenly become 10x better. And also make the programmer craftable. The thing is, the Machine Filter is actually not very good in a mixed mod game. It's not even strictly necessary...

Do players actually like emulated computers in minecraft?

Well Javascript would be super-easy with Rhino... Of course, Lua is more modern than every language you named. :D Hum. So the main draw of the RP2 computer was the Sortron. Makes me a little sad... Forth is such a beautifully poignant language.

    thaumcraft 3 research

That really is a good way to get the most out of objects. That's one of the reasons that alembics are so brutally expensive to make.

Do players actually like emulated computers in minecraft?

So I have this itch to sit down and write an emulator for a minecraft mod. I love RP2's idea of including a historically relevant computer and making it appropriately difficult to build, but I really (really) dislike the state of licensing and the lack of progress on that mod. I was looking...

    Universal Electricity Mod Pack

I thought UE was meant to be the basis for a new unified and more faithful model of electricity that might eventually replace IC2's outright ridiculous EU system.

    Universal Electricity Mod Pack

Is there any particular reason this modpack omits ComputerCraft? It seems like this is a glaring omission from a tech pack.

    thaumcraft 3 research

Boots require less materials, though. I'd do the chestplate now that I know to alembic off before research, but back when we were stockpiling the boots I didn't.

    thaumcraft 3 research

Yes. We use whatever armor-suitable material is on-hand. One way to optimize this a bit is to alembic metal boots and then keep the metal aspect off to the side for later use in thaumium or nugget generation.

An idea to prevent Nether lava exploitation

Hasn't this been discredited as pure fiction?

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

Simple question: Do you ever get enraged with modmakers and swear to yourself you're going to make a open source, cleanroom implementation of the important features of their mod? Transposers only pull things from adjacent inventories. So the configuration you want to ensure is: (origin chest)...

    thaumcraft 3 research

Part of learning to Thaumcraft is learning what sort of aspects pair with what sort of objects. To this end the initial research will probably not be very fruitful but as you progress through T2 you'll feel a lot more certain about research. For example, I am quite certain I know exactly what...

Random Thread about Researched based tech mod (moders please steel our ideas)

I actually sort of like Thaumcraft's research system. Its got this funny random prioritization system that means people branch in very different directions post T1, but have nearly identical T1 experiences. I have nearly all my research done, but had not managed to get a few key items to show...
