I just don't use IC2/ or any of that stuff, including Gregtech, never like that kind of mods in general. Tho if i did, never saw the point of using Grecgtech anyways other than a couple of ok machines, its just fluff about how "it makes the game more difficult" (which really doesn't) not much...

I'd actually prefer this to Obsidian pressure plates, not to mention it can be more specific than it or Thaumcraft's. Tho considering the previous 2 are already in FTB, I really doubt they'll give it a chance unfortunately.

Incorrect, Aura Nodes do have a range of effect, its pretty large, but if you're outside of said range, its as if there was no Vis at all. My thoughts are either whoever made the server set the Aura nodes to spawn extremely far apart from each other, or has something like Biomes o' Plenty or...

I believe there's a way to (re)generate various things from Thaumcraft in the config files, in case something like this happens. There are ways to make/ move Aura Nodes, but considering your situation, you'd most likely have to cheat to do so.

Exactly, I've gotten a stack an a half from a single coal vein, and coal veins aren't the rarest thing in the world. I actually cringe more when people are such "min-maxers" in Minecraft. :P (Especially modded Minecraft, where it matters even less.)
