It is slow on new worlds along with old, even when world is all loaded. No change if I mess with video settings: Tiny or Far distance and Fancy or Fast make no difference.

I assume you are forcing the GPU to be used already, right? Try setting up a server on your PC to share the load since Minecraft runs on a single core only. Worked for me.
