Running Red and Crash Landing tied for second

And the team category is being extended into 1.7.

And so we finally have a winner for the individual modpack creation competition and it is Parcel31u for Material Energy^3. This announcement has been a long time in coming and that goes to show the level of the entries that we received. The overall standard of packs that we received in the individual competition was a lot higher that I think any of us expected, from the immensely popular Crash Landing to the awesome work showing of HQM and fantastic storyline with Running Red the really great packs that I hoped to see have appeared and hopefully are here to stay. All three can be downloaded now from the third party packs tab of the launcher.

ME^3 was one of the first packs we played (maybe even the first one) and it immediately grabbed us. Strong in every area, from storyline, modpack creation and balance, map creation and showcasing Hardcore Questing Mode I think most people who have played this map recognised how good it is and in my mind is a worthy winner.

As I am sure many of you are aware this was an extremely tight competition that tied the judges meaning we had to draft in an extra judge which along with several other totally avoidable things delayed this result. Next time I will try to avoid having the closing date clash with a major convention :D.

As to the team event. Our current plan is to relaunch this competition for 1.7. All the entries from the original competition have been contacted and notified and we are waiting to here feedback from them all before confirming this 100%. However as long as everything goes OK, I am currently thinking of running this through 2nd half October and first half of November.

Finally I want to thank everyone who entered into both events. Hopefully some of you may continue to work on and develop your modpacks or start your own pack.

- Added the Thaumostatic Spire and related blocks.
- Added Crystalline Brain: Air.
- The Ring of Ender Disjunction now deals 50% more damage.
- Fixed an issue where endermen killed by the Ring of Ender Disjunction that were teleporting toward the player would drop their items where they teleported from instead of their destination (nearer the player).
- Fixed a crash involving spawn checks in certain custom biomes.
- Adjusted the rarity levels of Essentia Locus, Inventarium Core, and golem linking bell.

Just updated EvilCraft to 0.6.0.
Major new changes and features, most importantly Blood Magic support and automatable Blood obtaining.

Features:
* Add new XML-based (crafting/machine) recipe system. Also allows for players/modpack creators to easily define recipes.
* Add achievements.
* New <Shift for info> tooltip system.
* Add humanoid flesh that is dropped on player death. It gives similar effects as werewolf flesh, but can cause serious bad effects when you eat your own flesh...
* Add Vein Sword. It doubles the blood extraction and has Looting II.
* Add Dark Tanks which can be used to store any kind of liquid in item and block form, they also allow auto-supply mode and can be joined with other dark tanks to enlarge their capacity.
* Deprecate Blood Containers in favor of Dark Tanks, these blood containers will be removed in of the next version, so make sure to place them in a crafting grid to convert them to Dark Tanks.
* Add creative blood drop, replaces creative blood containers.
* Add config options to fully disable any IModCompat.
* Add retrogen support.
* Add Sanguinary Pedestal to auto-extract blood stained blocks in an area.
* Add Spiked Plate to damage mobs on top of it (acts as mob pressure plate). Place on top of a Sanguinary Pedestal to also collect blood from the mob, will send the blood to the pedestal below.
* Add Spike crafting item.
* Add Exalted Crafter, a portable crafting item. It has a built-in inventory which either connects to your ender chest or an item-specific inventory. Hotkey-able, including hotkey to clear your grid.
* Add Repelling Kineticator.
* Add Necromancer Staff. Sends zombies after a target.
* Add Invigorating Pendant. Clears bad potion effects using blood, fits into your Baubles inventory.
* Add Bound Blood Drop, a Blood Magic mod interaction item. This allows you to access your soul network as a simple Blood container, making it usable in all possible (EvilCraft) machines.
* Add Spirit Reanimator to revive spirits inside BOEC's.

Changes:
* Major refactoring of the code, this will ensure easy future development.
* Use efficient tick system everywhere.
* Nerf Poisonous Libelle. They are slower, do a less amount of poison damage in time and make less sounds.
* Boost Blood Pearl of Teleportation. Faster throwing speed and by default zero slow speed time after throws.
* Vastly improve server-friendliness of tile entities.
* Re-order config properties. A config file reset is required!
* Add several new properties to configure this mod as you please.
* Blood stained blocks overhaul, all blocks (expect for black-listed ones in config) can now be blood stained. Blood amount can now increase when multiple entities fall on top of them.
* Make Empowered items (Potentia Sphere, Exalted Crafter) non-despawnable and indestructable.
* Kineticators won't despawn anymore.
* Add disableable shapeless weather container recipes.
* Add better comparator support for all tank TE's.
* Add expected item phantom overlay in gui slots.
* Change several recipes to use the new Spikes.
* Transform villagers to werewolf villagers when struck by lightning.

Fixes:
* Fix skipped log message bug. Close #124.
* Fix blood containers not displaying cntnts when joining two lower tiers. Problem also occured on other items.
* Fix fluid tank bug where NBT packet of last drained amount not sent.
* Fix internal tile entity persistence issues.
* Fix glitchy gui overlay issues when holding an enchanted item.
* Fix sound of Undead Sapling.
* Reduce lag caused by Vengeance Beams.

I just released the first non-WIP release of RFTools (1.00). With the following changelog:

    • The Crafter is now a lot faster and more stable. Several bugs were fixed.
    • Implemented redstone control for the crafter (ignored, off, on).
    • Implemented a slow/fast mode for the crafter.
    • There are now three tiers for the scanner. Warning! This change makes the crafter incompatible with previous versions. So first remove all items from your crafter before updating to this version!
    • The Storage Scanner now implements a searching facility so that you can search for your items in all inventories that it knows.
    • Doubleclicking on an inventory in the Storage Scanner UI will close the window and hilight the inventory in the world. You can use this after searching for your diamond pickaxe and the scanner will guide you directly to the chest containing that.
    • Fixed several bugs in the scanner.
    • The RF network monitor item also implements the doubleclick feature in the list to hilight the block you clicked.

This version is 1.00 because I consider all blocks and items in this mod to be feature complete. That doesn't mean that there will be no more new blocks or that there are no more bugs. Just that what's there is how I want it to be :)
