I don't think the problem is that AE2 is complex. The problem is that very few wanted extreme complexity from AE. If you want complexity there are better options, like Reika's mods or GT. In addition, AE1 was THE automate-all-the-things mod, and when AE2 made that next to impossible there was no mod left to fill its place.

Basically, AE2 wasn't exactly targeted well to AE1's audience. That doesn't make it a bad mod, but it is a surefire way to piss a lot of your fans off.

We should probably take this to the RED thread.

The Spice of Life updated to v1.2.1
  • Hopefully fixed a sporadic crash when putting food into a food container
  • Temporarily disabled the chance to drop food from food containers while I implement better jump detection
  • Fixed the tooltip/overlay food values of food containers being incorrect when Hunger Overhaul is installed (1.7.10 only)
  • Fixed non-directly-edible foods being allowed in food containers (cake, open food containers)
  • Added Spanish localization (thanks @k3936)

That's a fare way to say it. You could also add that he made the mistake of listing to much to AE1s detractors. Which makes it very hard for anyone to convince him to change it back.
I wish I knew how to code. A psudo AE1 addon would have fixed the mod for both groups.

The problem is not it's not simply harder or more complex. It can be, depending on who uses it, just as easy and simple to use as it was or almost impossible to use.
Doing things in such a round a bout way is a fun puzzle a challenge. But only when you are not forced to do it.

Example: I was watching a Dwolf video. Soaryn made a complex set up easily. Dwolf looked at it and couldn't figure out how it worked.
How is that balanced.

Please keep it to modded news and not your opinions on the subject, You can start your own thread for that(as long it doesn't break the forum rules.)

This goes for everyone and not just NJM1564

Ah woops. I thought I had posted that over in the Red thread. Didn't bother looking at the thread title after that.
Though It's bin so quite on this thread I don't know why you bothered mentioning it. We are hardly diverting the flow of news posts.

By the way is that a new avatar? I thought I was the only one who was allowed to have a crazy "make you dizzy if you looked at it to long" avatar.

new day, new mod, which is a mod by @DjGiannuzz called HyperionCraft
it's a Borderlands 2 themed mod with a pretty cool model and animation.

Hyperion New-U Station
FomwMDh.png

This Station works just like in Borderlands 2. It's a checkpoint, basically, if you get close it will set your spawn in front of it.
You can prevent it from setting the spawn applying a redstone signal to the lowest block of the Station.
It won't set the spawn to players in creative mode, to make it easy to place if you are building a custom map with it.
If the block is destroyed the spawn point of the player will be set to the spawn point of that dimension.

When you respawn the station will play one of the 52 sarcastic message as in the Borderlands 2 game.

CONFIG FILE: You can change the range in which the checkpoint will set you spawn and disable the respawn messages.
Remember that if you are using the 1.7.10 version you can use the IN-GAME config. Just go in the "Mod" section, in the main menu, click on "HyperionCraft" and then click on "Config".

Hyperion Fast Travel Station
Em0txZ7.png

The Fast Travel Station works like a New-U Station, it will set your spawn if you get close, but you can use it to travel around the world too!
When you right click on the station an interface will show up and you can set the name of that position and add it to the accessible points.
You can set Public and Private points. Anyone can see Public points an teleport there, but only you can see your Private points.
If you leave the Station on Public mode will be accessible to anyone, but only you can add, rename and remove points from there.
If the station is on Private mode only you can access it.
Double click on a point to teleport. The Fast Travel Network works between dimension too.
Players in creative mode can bypass all the restriction.
If you apply a redstone signal to the lowest block it won't set your spawn.

NOTE: All recipes are temporary(Feel free to suggest some)

Botania updated, to version 117. Changelog:
Added a HUD element when hovering over a mana pool with an item that can be infused that shows if there's enough mana in the pool or not. If you're a goldfish you should sneak on it too.
  • Added some Lore/Quote pages (all text in italics) to some entries in the Lexica Botania. They aren't gameplay focused, just little homages and small distractions.
    • Daybloom
    • Fallen Kanade
    • Gourmaryllis
    • Heisei Dream
    • Jaded Amaranthus
  • Added the ability to share lexicon entries through a button on the top-right corner of the gui.
  • Changed some text to fit better on screen on low resolutions/high gui scale.
  • Changed the "X:10 Ratio" display on mana infusion and runic altar recipes to be more visible.
  • Fixed Mana Enchanters crashing the world if somehow spawned in with an invalid metadata.
  • Fixed the "An Introdutory Clip" page misbehaving. That totally wasn't intentional, nope.
  • Fixed the Timeless Ivy's repair recipe not being completely shapeless and not working if the repair item isn't in the end. (nekosune)
  • Fixed the wiki display having two spaces behind my @. MY OCD
Shift-right clicking on a block from unknown knowledge school in the world doesn't work any more.
