Well, RP2 can cover RP2 stuff and only RP2 stuff.
From what I hear, Immibis can cover...everything else, yes it's extremely annoying. I think it's because RP2 is closed source, not sure though.

Immibis can cover Buildcraft pipes, Liquiducts, and Redstone Conduits? An Immibis cover can separate them as well like a RP cover can separate wires and pipes? Wow, that's cool. Maybe I was wrong.

DON'T QUOTE ME !

I think they can cover BC, not sure about TE. And I know they can cover IC2.

Works on IC, BC, TE, doesn't work on RP, AE, doesn't disconnect cables nor pipes, neither graphically nor functionally.

OK, seems I was wrong! At least, partly wrong - they can co-exist with other mods' blocks, but don't interact with them in the same way RP covers interact with RP wires and tubes. It seems that there are still significant barriers to a universal microblocks API, and good reasons for Eloraam to do it her way. Still, we can hope eh?

Does anyone know if a) it works on BC, TE, IC2 because Immibis coded it to work on them, or b) it works because the BC, TE, and IC2 developers made theirs work with Immibis?

They work because immibis coded them to work on those. They also work on AE cables and FZ Lead wire if you edit the config with the appropriate block and tile names :)
THe only thing they can't do at the moment is, as you and Poppycocks mentioned, seperate cables or pipes.

I've been tempted to messwith the arcane ear (and levitator) lately.
Not using wireless redstone is a boon, and shortens some setups. It allows you to use 'public' style frequency but with a range limit.
For servers without wireless redstone it is amazing for replacing some of that functionality.

The arcane ear is great for SSP worlds, but as soon as you put it on SMP anyone can go along and fuck with the frequency. And if you have seperate ears for seperate machines on seperate frequencies then that can royally fuck you up.

Here's everything I personally use that I don't believe others use as much:

Canning machine for food, it's the same hunger filling + an instant heal + you get the cans back. (the qsuit helmet uses these to feed you anyway)
Magnetizer for vertical movement.
Rubber sheets for stopping a (short) descent.
Pipe wire that IS NOT red. One of the advantages BC pipes have over RP.
Nuclear reactors in all shapes, sizes, and fuels.
Reinforced and High Speed rail lines (reinforced are faster than normal rails, and HS rails are FAST AS HELL)
Iron scaffolds used for flooring (did you guys know you can click a scaffold with either a stick (wooden) or iron fence (iron) to gain more support?)
Railcraft steel tools (they're great if you find some in a dungeon early on)
On the topic of railcraft.. The tunnel bore. I can set one out with a predetermined number of coal coke and a few carts in a train behind it and come back to a new HS rail line that I did 0 work on that leads to more storage etc.
Gregtech's Jackhammer. The diamond one is just amazing. It's faster (on rocks only) than a vajra.

Just curious, but has anyone tested the Arcane Ear with GT's Portable Sonictron? You could set up a complex lock with them if it works together. The fact that one can use a Note Turtle seems to suggest that it would work.

Not sure if it is underused. Wand of Equal Trade does a lot of useful staff: Gathering obsidian instantly, changing your house everyday with new material, bog earth farming has never been easier

Or will just take much too long to actually do. There is turtles.

A program that would test if there is a block there, remove it, and place the stone. It'd check if there was a block above it first too, kinda like a reversed surface quarry.

Why is there no normal crafting table/Project table with that functionality?
Check out the Fabricator. Pure amazing.

To reply to thread title:
Canning machine, as mentioned above
IC2 miner! It's an amazing and far less destructive alternative to the quarry when you first start out. Also, you only get the 'good bits'

MineFactory Reloaded. Folks: did you know you can set up high output farms for trivial energy costs? MFR machines behave like Buildcraft machines: they slowly nibble up power. So unlike a lot of EU-based machines you can undervolt them and they still work, albeit slower. Did you know you can produce biofuel directly from seeds and saplings with MFR? Did you know that MFR conveyors never drop items?

And the animal farms! For just the cost of a LV powersource you can have infinite leather, wool, feathers and meat. Did you know the safari net can move villagers huge distances? :D

I've fiddled some with MFR this week and I have to agree, it's an amazing mod. The animal farms are easy to set up, work great and are fun to watch! I quite enjoy watching my cows frantically try to run the wrong way on a conveyor belt to escape the mob grinder... sometimes it takes a few minutes, but they always succumb eventually. *evil laughter*

MFR makes biofuel production so easy, I almost feel guilty about skipping the fermenter/still/mulch/fertilizer. Almost.

Speaking of conveyor belts, I'm going to make an effort to use them more often. They look awesome.
