Those items are safe after crafting. You can melt them to get molten unstable.
...molten unstable?
...

Unstable is not a name, it is a description. If you melt down unstable ingots you should get unstable liquid or unstable molten metal or something like that.

It doesn't have an actual name yet it seems. It's just fluid.molten.unstableIngots.

... Doctoral bee?

Let me guess: Produces learning certificates that can bypass some knowledge tech-trees (Thaumcraft), while using evil robots as their flower?

Today, or rather, at the end of yesterdays session, I discovered that the Moon (from Galacticraft) has an over 2 hour night cycle! After landing there. In the middle of said night cycle.

At least I brought along equipment to make oxygen.

I also discovered that torches extinguish themselves without oxygen.

So I'm current sitting on the moon, in the near darkness, with a bunch of equipment set up to make oxygen, hoping the single Advanced Energy Cube I brought along doesn't run out before the sun hits the solar power plant feeding it. Because I cannot get into the Rocket without refueling it and there are evolved creepers out there.

EDIT: Having looked it up, the day-night cycle lasts, in total, 2 hours 40 mins.

Two hours for night time?
...
Are you on a server and can you just log-off and come back?

Do jack-o-lanterns extinguish themselves? How about glowstone? Fire? Lava?

There's many choices for light; don't limit yourself to just torches. Lava is great on hillsides.

He's on the moon, dude. He brought oxygen gear. Lava was most likely not on his priority list. :p

Yes, jack-o-lanterns have a 1/6180339887 chance of extinguishing themselves every tick. That's the reason why they cause so much lag when in large amount.
You can't just place fire without oxygen, and lava make for a cool lamp ;D
Glowstone is ok as a sort of torch, but may cause radiation if exposed to direct sunlight for an extended period of time. Use with caution.
Glowstone block have a 92% chance of violently exploding if it's exposed to a light level of above 8 for more than 235 ticks.

As far as I know, only Fire and Torches don't work. Tinker's Stone Torches, however, do work. Yay, mod compat, or the lack thereof... XD
Glowstone torches ARE a thing added by GC, but they're dim. Waaaay not worth it.

It's actually half that for a night time. Only 80 minutes night time. And day time.

I waited it out, actually. Didn't take too long before the sun came up and all those mobs disappeared. Then went for a wander, and discovered a moon village where I grabbed some glowstone torches. Found a Moon Dungeon.

Oh, and I also discovered I needed either a diamond pick, or a Hardened one, to mine meteors. Defeating the main purpose of the whole expedition. XD

That's why Galacticraft added glowstone torches! Made the same as a normal torch, but with glowstone dust in place of coal in the recipe. They don't need oxygen for light.
