I personally love MFR, for the simple recipes and how everything integrates well with each other. I'm currently playing on route66craft, on ultimate. It is allowing me to automate my energy production very nicely. Multiple farms growing different food products and trees, to full a bio-generator thingy, to get power. The server has soul shards disabled, and we are only allowed one mob spawner. So I'm using mine for skellies to get bones, and grinding them in a macerater to get bonemeal. My cow farm is producing enough mob essence to power the mob spawner, and I get meat as a bi-product. (streak goes and gets cooked in am induction furnace). My AE system auto turns on and off the fertilizers for the farms at preset levels for each food. Sludge goes to a sludge boiler, and I'm getting TONS of clay. (I love factorization also). The what from my farm is powering my leather/mob essence production, and extra seeds go to forestry squeezers for seed oil. I'm moving the sludge with red-power pipes and pumps.

I only have one issue, and that is the harvester seems to not like all of the plants added by other mods. Heniquin (yeah I spelled it wrong) gives me the most issue.

Tee farms give me wood, saplings and rubber. (i use the wood to make sticks for the fertilizer and turn the rest into creosote oil for my steves cart minning machine rails or into charcole to soon feed some forestry boilers.) Extra saplings get turned into bio-mass in fermenters. I'm storing it for now, need to see if GT distalation (sorry about the spelling) tower will work to convert it into forestry bio-fuel. If not then I wonder if BC refineries still would?

All my farms have copper upgrades on them. The only farm that is not running right now is the one for MFR rubber trees. Realized I had set simmering wrong when I went to cook some and realized I had 27k rubber after about 5 hours of playing. (I'm giving it away just so I can get more storage space. Lol)

Did you know that a planter will NOT plant neather wart onto xzcraft soil? I found that odd cause I can put it their manually, just not with planter. (wow, 64 stacks of nether wart, time to start auto being potions)

Is their a list any where for the current version included in the recommended ftb packs that list what plants MFR supports that includes modded plants? That would be very nice/helpful in deciding how to expand my farming setup. (those heniquin seeds or whatever are planted by the planter, the harvester just does not like to pick up the seeds, so I end up with tons of seeds floating on that farm.)

I'm planning on using TC golems for the harvesting part as soon as get them researched.

Yeah, I try to make my builds a cross mood as I can, just more fun that way. And just because I am using MFR right now for farming, I also have two SC tree farms, and one what farm. (steaves cart is also my outside roaming patrol, which is how I got all my bones before my spawner.

I really love the fact that the fertilizer can use any fertalizer.

Great mod, good balance, and loads of fun to expand on. Next step is setting up to get ink, eggs and milk.

Like any agriculture, I think it's just trial and error to see if you can automate a plant species. I don't personally believe every single plant should be auto-farmable.

Really really really really looking forward to playing around with MFR once I get my mod pack sorted out.

If it were up to me I would automate everything but you could probably guess that from the stuff the mod does. Anything you have to do by hand is a failure. Except mining and building, because the first makes the game super boring when everybody has quarries and the latter is kind of the point of the game. That just leaves the player to decide what to do and where to do it, and how to make it look good.

hey, PC, since you`ve mentioned that your gun will be able to shoot poop, i`ve been thinking that maybe you could make that optional by adding fan attachment? :)

PC, are there any plans for horses when it comes to farming? It'd be awesome to have a real byproduct from horse slaughter, possibly a sticky substance with an industrial application?

:p:D

Not sure if trolling, wants him to say something weird, or doesn't actually know.

Glue.
Thanks Daemonblue.

It was also a long running joke that injured horses were destined to become glue. There was a time when they were widely used for industrial purposes such as that since horses were plentiful. In the mid 20th century the joke was used a lot in Looney Toons shorts as a running joke.

It is illegal in many countries to consume horse meat. In countries where horse consumption is legal, said flesh is considered a delicacy. There are often ornate decorations above restaurants in France that serve horse meat.

So my comment was meant to be slightly humorous but also a valid suggestion since horses will be in 1.6 and hey seem to only drop leather AFAIK. You also made me explain a joke which nullified any potential humor that could be derived from said joke.:p;)

For what it's worth I got the glue thing instantly :p Maybe slimeballs since that's kind of glue in MC (sticky pistons), but that just seems weird.
