For me, it's forgetting to bring something vital when going 800 blocks to my new base, realising, then going all the way back to pick it up.

Yes, it's been slightly alleviated since I made the GraviChestPlate, but it still peeves me off when I go to move my machines and leave my Omniwrench in a mineshaft.

I always bring a portal gun with me in a tool ender pouch with one portal placed back home just for that :p If I am in a different age, then I (almost) always remember to place one portal near the linking book back home.

I have a chest full of Portal Guns, but I never think to use them. I really should at the moment, since I'm moving all my resources into my new base.

I use them all the time for when I am building something new. I set one portal to a place near a ME terminal and a charge pad in my house, and the other I can place/replace where ever I want at the building site. Even if its just 10 chunks away. Its so much easier than flying back and forth for stuff you forget.

Just remember to deactivate the portals, specially in other ages, since the portals work as chunkloaders.

They work as Chunkloaders!? How did I not know this?

Well, it's decided. I'm going to grab one from the chest and force myself to use it!

Well I dont know the details of their functionality as chunkloaders, but they show up on /chunkloaders as actively loading the chunk the portals are placed in.

*When Vanilla adds a new, rare, dangerous to get, item.. and Every mod decides it's part of the next tier of difficulty, and use said new item in their recipes >.< (Emeralds were added to at least 17 recipes of the mods I use in 1.5.2)

Disagree. Since most mod dev's mod straight MC first, they must sort out the tech levels based on what a vanilla client provides. New ores or drops are a great way of getting new harder content in. However, I also agree with you! Just using more stuff doesn't make the mod more ... uhh, harder? What a mod needs is different methods of constructing parts like, TiC smeltery, TE magma crucible + liqiud transposer and TC4 with Infusion crafting.

And then I usually end up clicking the wrong mouse button, and end up having to walk back that 800 blocks anyway...

Thats why my pouch also contains that Dartcraft teleport wand thingy back to base and 2 Linking books: One for overworld, and one for my mining age. So no chance of getting stuck anywhere :p

I tend to set up teleporters for this, even with the large power cost. Its not like I'm gonna shuttle stuff over, I'll use a quantum bridge or LP for access at a new build Site. Teleporters are less buggy than portals and more inventory friendly than teleport tools, but of course require that you have a great power system/overflow.

Portal spawner and wireless redstone. Do what you like with the portal gun as you travel, then activate the portal at home when you want it.

Set up a few spawners at different places and assign different wireless channels to them all.

Just because they don't call it that doesn't mean it is. It's a rewrite of the mod, and it's the 3rd public rewrite, even if it's only part of it. See Thaumcraft 3 -> 4.

A mod can be called whatever the mod maker wants it to be called. If they say it's 3 then it's 3 but if they say is still 2 it still is.

I don't see what's the big deal about the numbers, really, it doesn't always have to be [complete rewrite].[mayor features added].[small features added] and a letter or another number for hotfixes.
