Not sure why this months-old thread had to be resurrected after all this time... but for what it's worth, something related happened just yesterday: https://github.com/MinecraftForge/FML/pull/529

Somebody made a new github account to put forth a pull request for Forge ModLoader that would automatically make FML reject and skip GregTech, Reika's mods, Redpower (of all things) and several others on loading. Because apparently "FML has a duty to protect it's users" from mods or modders that do not meet that guy's personal approval. The fail is strong in this one... heck, it wouldn't surprise me if this was the same person identified earlier in this thread, still on some sort of personal crusade.

That PR is what resurrected this thread, and more than one person on Pahimar's twitter (where this was reposted) made the same speculation.

I rather doubt it. FML is extremely complicated and intricate, and I doubt a troll would go to the effort of reverse-engineering FML just so they could have legitimate code (it would work for its intended purpose!) for this.

what did machinemuse do?

Current speculation is "OMG OP MOD IS OP KILL IT NAO".

Community Balance Knight (aka the Make It Harder club) opinion differs from yours. I've played with just MPS, and it's both better and worse with the addons. The addons add functions that are pretty much the only reason I use the mod, while also adding infinite power loops that let you charge your suit on the run and while mining and such. But the base mod gives "too much armor" and "the weapons are too good" and blah blah blah. I've heard the same arguments leveled against so many mods that my knee-jerk reaction to "OP" is to punch people in the face. I'm glad it's only ever over the internet where I can't do that. Especially because nobody ever offers alternatives or suggestions on how to fix it.

Must be like the code that a lot of the interoperable mods have. I know MFR has Redpower and XyCraft compatibility code still. It's in there "just in case"... or simply because removing it would be more hassle than it's worth in the case of the mod interaction code.

Even though she's back, it's still dead... with the way her twitter feed is leading, after her drop-off-the-face-of-the-planet and the microsoft buyout? She's going to make Redpower The Game instead of work on MC anymore. In any case, until she actually puts out redpower, it's still dead. She's just sitting there in the overly long casting time for "Resurrection" (D&D jokes, I am SUCH a nerd)

When you say "back" what exactly do you mean? Do you mean her regular "back" or actually back as in developing Redpower or some other mod. Because I take statements like that regarding Elo being "back" with a particularly small grain of salt.

Either way, the guy was a dunce for making such a request.

She's just back on the face of the earth. I agree with @TomeWyrm, I doubt RP is actually going to be updated, but last time I checked Eloraam was working on it.
