Okay, so its only odd world gen? Im pretty sure we already got some fancy weird looking world gen after an earlier update.

If thats all it does I guess we'll just go ahead and update and live with the funky weird looking biomes.. :)

It's not me that's bitter, it's the soup, I swear!...

haha, but nah. It's great to see that you're actively working on the issues that exist within the modpacks. Though it does kind of suck to have reconfigure all the mods that I finished adding to Horizons just last night, it's all for the better. Hopefully I shouldn't have too much trouble.

Thanks for all the hard work, Eyamaz! Can't wait for this to be out of beta! :D

Arthuras: There's a magical thing called Backups. Let me explain how they work.
First, you make a copy or zip of your world to outside of your FTB/minecraft folder.
Then, optionally, you make a copy of your whole Monster folder (including the world). This can also be done by simply renaming the folder to Monster2.
Congratulations, you've made a backup. Now you are ready to upgrade to 1.0.9, and attempt to COPY your world into it.

World breaks? Not a problem. The magic of backups have another magical concept called Restoring - and this is where all the magic of backups really lies. See, all you have to do is either copy your world folder back into a functioning 1.0.8 install, or re-rename your Monster2 folder back to Monster (and remove/rename the broken Monster folder)
To add to this:
There is a even more magical tool available for Linux/Windows called rdiff-backup. I makes incremental backups and thus saves disk space as only changed things are backed up on each run instead of the whole folder/world.

Hrm. Seems a few people are having issues with the new versions showing up.

Mine also did this. I fixed it by closing the launcher, deleting the Monster folder, then restarting the launcher. After that it showed 1.0.9 available and didn't have 1.0.8. It might also work to downgrade to a previous version & then restart the launcher. I think if you had 1.0.8 downloaded before it was removed from the launcher it can get stuck on that.

BUT, it looks like there's a connection issue with the launcher right now, as several people are posting about it in the Support forums. It's doing something similar to what happened a couple of weeks ago...

Code:
Connection refused: connect: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect
Unhandled exception in Thread[Thread-1,5,main]: java.lang.NullPointerException
[i18n] Could not retrieve version info, skipping update.: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect
Connection refused: connect: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect
Failed to load modpacks, loading from backup: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect
Loading modpack information for modpacks.xml...

And it's not allowing people to change the download location in the Advanced Options. I'm currently stuck on "Automatic"... I switched it to that when the Atlanta server was having trouble yesterday and promptly forgot about it :(

So that might be your issue, waphis. If your console shows that error, it's not actually connecting and checking for new modpack versions.

@Eyamaz I'm waiting for stable before updating as it means copying bases out of our world and into the new one, but I thought I read in the last post that you removed Rutile Ore generation. Is that not the only way to get Titanium currently in monster? Unless I am missing something.

ATG doesn't like to use the river biome very often (very rare) so we switched to having a small amount of rutile generating through cofhcore.

I did as you said and deleted my monster folder and restarted the launcher but still the same thing. only versions 1.0.0-1.0.8. And my download location is also stuck on "automatic."
