Mod Name: Defense
Link to Mod: http://emashersmods.wikispaces.com/Downloads
Version: 1.2.1.0
Reason: What, barbed wire and forcefields as early-game defensive measures aren't enough?

Mod Name: GasCraft (addon to Engineer's Toolbox)
Link to Mod: http://emashersmods.wikispaces.com/Downloads
Version: 2.0.2.0
Reason: More fuels and generators (such as hydrogen and smoke and natural gas), and neurotoxin if you want to recreate Aperture Science. Oh, and some cool machines!

Name: Schematica
Link: Click here
Version: 1.6.4
Reason: This is a really handy practical mod. Many mods in FTB feature tricky block structures, such as IC2 factories, automated farms and Buildcraft quarries. When starting a new world, remembering what goes where can detract from the fun. With Schematica you can export block layouts as .schematic files, then use the mod to import them into the world as a ghost image to guide you. This mod lets you copy whatever you want, from a Thaumcraft base, to a village, to large sections of your world.

Name: Witchery
Link: Click here
Version: 1.6.4
Reason: I find this mod interesting because it initially takes a quieter, more Minecraft-like approach to magic, in contrast with the flashes and bangs of Thaumcraft and Ars Magica. It becomes quite complex, though, and soon you'll be bargaining with demons!

Most of the mods I had in mind have been posted here already, but in general just shoving all the mods in this topic into the next pack would make it absolutely stunning. Riddled with conflicts, possibly, but stunning.

Mod Name:Exp Chest
Link to Mod: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1119919-forgessp-164-exp-chest-v3/
Version: 1.6
Reason: Have you ever been just starting out in Minecraft, decide to go caving, decided to go back to your house, and saw like 3 creepers and 5 skeletons. And it just so happens that you got 40 levels from all that caving you did with your awesome caving skills.Well if you got an Exp Chest all those worries will fly away into the sunset!:D

Mod Name : MapWriter
Link to Mod: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1570989-164-forge-mapwriter-an-open-source-mini-map/
Version : 1.6.4
Reason(s): The best mini-map for minecraft. Less ressources demanding, if you compare with other mini-map (~10 time less cpu/ram on my side). It functions like the maps in many RPG's, not only showing your immediate surroundings, but also everywhere you've been before. No more need dynmap on server. More easy to find biome you have already discovered (essential with BoP). More balance since you can't see mobs on radar. You can manage your waypoints by group and show only specific group. A lot more option.

Mod Name : The Quantum Computing mod
Version : 2.0.1
Reason(s): Lets you build free-form quantum circuits, and integrate those with redstone circuits. You can convert back and forth between classical (redstone) information and quantum information. It works well but it runs real circuit simulation, so unless the user knows or is willing to learn how real quantum circuits/gates work, he won't be able to do anything with it (we are making tutorials and stuff tho).

Mod Name : Tropicraft
Link to Mod: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic...-tropical-realm-palm-trees-volcanoes-beaches/
Version : 5.0.1
Reason(s): It adds a unique flavor to the game, including a lot of interesting tweaks.
Note: They require permission to put it in modpacks but seem to be amiable to requests.

Mod Name : Dimensional Doors
Link to Mod: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1650007-152universal-dimensional-doors-v141-eyes-in-the-dark/
Version : 1.4.1
Reason(s): The one-way doors are extremely interesting mechanically, and having the alternate dimension system available allows for ultra-compact base building -- at least, on the overworld. The additional dungeon content is also very interesting, and Limbo is a fascinating addition to the game.
Note: He requests that he be asked before adding it to a modpack, but states this is just so he knows where it is being distributed.
