This thread was enough to make me give this pack a go.

I lasted 2 minutes before I died.
*CelestialPhoenix fell into the void.
I... don't... even...

Two minutes?! Before falling into the VOID?!!

Sweet Zombie Raptor Jegus, I'm gonna have to seriously check this pack out.

I'm confused. Was there a pack update? It didn't ask if I wanted to update when I selected the pack, so I used force update in the launcher options. Immediately after, I started a new world and found some natura berry bushes. Was it a harder configs update or something, or is my launcher having issues?

This is for MF2 2.0.1. There are a few issues with the hardermf configs, and you will want to update growthcraft, as there is a bug with the fisher that is fixed in the latest version. Most of the issues noted for 2.0.1 in the bug thread are pretty straight forward to fix.[DOUBLEPOST=1391990644][/DOUBLEPOST]
What the hell did you DO?

My guess is that he found a hungry node.

Well, I made it as far as researching the thaumostatic harness in thaumcraft. Note to self, If an infernal zombie knocks 4 hearts off in one hit, run away. Do not try to kill him up close with your alumite cleaver. Things will not go well for you.

He fell into a VOID, not eaten by a hungry node. Don't Hungry Nodes have a unique kill message, anyway?

so growing anything does not reproduce seed when harvested, is this correct?

I encountered, and was swallowed by a hungry node once. I got the message that I fell into a void. I think that's how it kills you. I was on a boat in the middle of the ocean, and I saw the node. It looked different than any other I had encountered. It swallowed the boat, then me. Since I was in the water, I couldn't get away. :(

Huh. You learn something every day.

I usually turn on creative mode once I realize I'm inside it's well.
If you had no shoes on and a pair of heavy boots ready, I know of one way you could have survived the node. The node, mind you, wouldn't be what kills you at that point, quite likely.

In 2.1.1 you will always get at least 1 seed. This is because MFR harvests the full plant. You can also craft excess veggies and fruit into seeds.

Didn't know where else to post, so I'll just leave this here: With the deactivation of iron axes you can't craft the chop golem core and are kind of forced to go MFR for treefarming (which I personally don't like. It's pretty OP for the price).
Can you give us some way of getting around this without having to cheat items in. Like either reactivating the iron axes or changing the thaumcraft recipe to accept invar/gold/thaumium axes?

I can turn the axe back on. I really wish Azanor would have stuck to using thaumium tools.

New modpack acquired!
Day 1: Poke at a hungry node, get murdered horribly and lose everything. (First time seeing an aura node)
Day 1, part 2: First time meeting an infernal mob, get mauled horribly and delete world.
Day 2: Move into world with village near spawn with smeltery: godsend.
Day 2, part 2: Homing TNT Cave Spiders... pls ;_;
Day 3: Alumite Pickaxe has been mastered, time to get some ardite, open the gate to the nether!
Day 3, part 2: Zombie Pigman decides to create extreme hate after a period of peace. Proceed to get mobbed and pushed into a lake of lava
<Mastered set of tools has been burnt up in lava> <Breathes deeply, stare at screen for a few minutes> <Respawn and create new set of tools>
Day 4: Manyullyn acquired! Village littered with gravestones and not a soul in sight, decides it's time to move. Finds a nice plain beside a magical forest, Golden bag of Holding was of great use.
Day 4, part 2: Taking a break, and read through this entire thread.

Food used: Bread, Natura Berries, Occasional Sandwich, Most recent discovery of Toast. Will make proper farms in newly settled land
Bug found: Trying to upgrade your Mattock handle will crash the game, intended to be purely of a single metal tool(?)
Future Goals: Build a mansion/castle on new plot of land. Figure out how Thaumcraft, Bees, and Forestry works.

Question: I found that upgrading the sword blade does not increase the damage, but if you recreate the weapon with the upgraded metal, the damage is increased. Does this mean you'll have to remaster a weapon if you want to use a higher tiered metal for it?

The handle crash and the sword thing would be bugs. If you could kindly post them on the bug report thread for MF, I can get those sent off.

the reseaerch calls for an axe of the stream. Does the golem require the axe of the stream to chop wood?

I am somewhat unsure what to do about infernal mobs. I like the sense of danger it adds, but at the same time it feels too random, which can lead to both boring and unfair enemies. Unfair because there is absolutely no regard to your current level or situation, in that there is no way you could be prepared for really powerful enemies. Boring becuase many of the infernal mobs just have incredible amounts of health and can only be beaten in a prolonged fight where you have the ability to heal yourself.

Their abilities are cool for boss-mob encounters that you need to, and can, prepare for. The way they are now seems disconnected from the rest of the gameplay.
Been using Infernal Mobs along with Zombie Awareness in Omega Dawn modpack/server for the last 6 months. Had to highly tweak the Infernal Mob settings, reduce their chance (due to increased number of mobs), plus disabled some of the abilities that are just "unfair".
