Dito on that, dont know if its possible tough without making the world rather large to download since he has to pregen alot of areas. The other idea that was mentioned was instead of rather large quest rewards, (wich kinda seems silly to be honest) give a waypoint to a abandoned base of some sort that has some machines and stuff in it. This could be done easier then giving the coords to mining areas since he can tp there and build the base and no other areas get pregenerated in that manner.Just give the mine coords
this modpack takes like 30 minutes for me to load on my computer.....
This is obviously your computer because for me and many others the pack is significantly faster than all other FTB packs (1 minute). Try allocating more RAM or permgen if possible.when i open a single player world of course
Yeah the goal is to speed the player through the pack to understand the mod before jumping into another pack... Im really interested about how this will turn out. I really love how gregtech has changed in 1.7, but since its so much i reaaly would like a tut of some sort and this is perfect!
Besides who doesnt want a modpack with gregtech 5 and HQM to spice things up !
+1 for streamlined design.Yup as the focus will be on GT, things from other inessential mods will either be provided or rewarded.
That's the first design goal CBG and I had when starting the project.+1 for streamlined design.
My recommendation for some early iron is search river banks for some weird looking sand. This will get you tin and iron and some other ores.not sure how i am feeling about these odd ores for metals. recently ran into a "no metal anywhere" thing, going from cave to cave, and nothing. found some vanilla iron when i found a vanilla stone cave. but the other types seem extra rare. is there a particular way to find them? like iron is more common in X type of stone?
This thread is 1.6.4. Version two, scheduled for at least the beginning of January (maybe as a midterm present ) will be 1.7.10.What is the MC version again?
Hello *waves*
Just saw this thread today (so many modpacks ^^") and since I always was kinda interessted in seeing what gregtech is about I tried it.
I know the 1.7.10 version is in the works, but in case it uses PFAA as well I have a question, or rather begging for advice ^^"
Can anyone explain how the ore-gen works in this PFAA-mod? Or at least give me hints of where to find the starting metalls?
I kinda spend the last 90 minutes with trying to find iron, first with good old stripmining (I was around y23~26) then with going to some caves and trying to find any there... well I ended up with like 5 pieces of tungsten-ore... and nothing else, absolutely nothing else... not even coal or anything. I wonder if I am so very unlucky with finding stuff or I'm doing something totally wrong with PFAA.
I've just started out today too. I looked at NEI for iron ingots, there's quite a few ways to get it. Turned out that while I was digging away for gravel I picked up a few of the right blocks. Let me know if you want me to name them.
PS Are you getting any rewards? I don't particularly care, but just want ot make sure the pack is working as expected.
