Gregtech deliberately crashing client if TC installed..

Same old GT haters? I used to enjoy GT- because it actually offered something.

All my ethical qualms with GT aside (and they are numerous and plentiful, at this point), GT has ceased to even be a fun mod whatsoever. Greg literally has started adding nerfs to add grind for the sake of grinding (making macerator higher tier is one thing, making you get 2 planks for 1 log... seriously?), and has not only f-ed over IC2 itself, but basically added a bunch of seemingly never-going-to-be-finished content which, despite taking hours to grind for, literally serves no purpose but allowing you to grind (surprise!) to the next stage, until you finally hit the final stage, where instead of being rewarded with more grinding, you get literally jack shit as a reward.

It's not even a grind where you get something cool, like skills in MMORPGs. It's a grind for the sake of grinding- and I know I'm no masochist.

What about those who like this stuff?

This is not but fucking DRAMA, that crash affected dudes who MUST have latest version of everything NOW and it was fixed hours afterwards, his code in no way attacked any official ftb modpack and we should not care about his problems whit mDyo.

Doubtful. Everyone is very civil and this thread was politely created to avoid such actions in another thread that was derailed.

In my view, it seems people in this thread are like dog owners. You do get mad when the dog poops on the rug a few times. You work with the dog and try to get it to behave. But after a point, you put the dog outside to save the rug and your patience.

Also if the dog tries to bite you for putting it outside, it's best to just get rid of the dog.

If you like grinding: Fine, you are free to keep grinding, but stop trying to make everyone else play the same way as you.

It would be fine if we could change the config to bring back the advanced recipes (circuits, batteries, etc) so we wouldn't need to do those plate bending and assembly machines but we can't.

The code is still there.

It's just inactive.


Meaning that he can reactivate it at any point and crash the client for whatever reason.

It doesn't need to be there now to be added at any time.

This thread and issue isn't about GregTech itself (which I never had a particular problem with even with the new changes in 3.11) but what a giant hypocrite he's proven to be and how hostile he is to people who don't have "the correct opinion" on balance, enough to force-crash the unbelievers.

That behaviour is utter horseshit and deserving of total and permanent pariah status.

The fact that greg was willing to do this in a public release is a huge issue. Denying that is as foolish as allowing a cool program that you used to trust to install malware on your computer. It isn't about his petty quarrels. It's about the fact that he is not only willing to take his power hungry fantasies out on his userbase, but to basically put out malware for people to install.

Why should anyone trust someone like that with their computer?

Any can look at my build and see I have been minimizing my use of GT for awhile now. And don't get me wrong I'm one of those folks that tells people if you dont like it remove it or use the configs.

But to be honest I'm kind of done with GT and only put up with it becuase the mod pack I'm using has it. If it was my choice at this point I would remove it. But as it is part of a server that is not my option.

I don't think most are going to get over the whole double all costs until you make Gregs machines just to normalize your costs.

What I do see if people using older versions of it or adding in stuf like NiceGT. That is what I think is going to happen to most of those that can roll there own mod pack. The rest well they are basicly stuck with what ever FTB gives them.

I ate a poorboy BBQ sandwich from a BBQ place 9 years ago. It made me very ill. I never went back to that place.
I went to a website and was fooled into installing a fake virus checker 5-6 years ago. I don't do that any more.
I stubbed my toe and I think I broke it last Christmas. I'm way more careful now.

GT gave me code that purposefully crashed my game.

What do you think? Yeah, I won't be in that 'most' group. Thanks for not saying all people.

So basically the people who are using GT and TiCo together aren't part of Greg's userbase, so why does he even care whether their wood is nerfed or not?
