Mod Pack: FTB Mage Quest version 1.0.3
Mod & Version: HQM
Pastebin link to crash log:
Whats the bug? The modpack doesn't seem to install HQM when it installs. I looked over the "installed mods" list ingame, and I don't see the HQM mod there.
*EDIT* I looked over the "Enabled Mods" in the ftb launcher, and the HQM mod isn't there either.
*EDIT 2* I started Mage Quest v 1.0.4 instead, and the HQM mod is there
Can it be repeated?
Known Fix: Start the modpack up in v. 1.0.4 instead.

HQM is not in the alpha versions. They will be in beta and release.
Don't quote me on that though.

Actually feel free to quote you.

Although there is an alpha release which has an incomplete version of the quests (1.0.4). Just change your version to it in the launcher.

Mod Pack: FTB Mage Quest version 1.0.3

This isn't a bug. This is intended as the quests are not finished therefore we only want people who want to try them to use them. We don't want to push unfinished work on everyone.

Mod Pack: FTB Mage Quest
Version: 1.0.4
Mod: Archmagus
Pastebin link to crash log: N/A
Whats the bug?
I can't see the bubble bar when in water. The Archmagus mana bar seems to have replaced it. As a result I just start drowning at some point without warning
Can it be repeated? Sure.
Known Fix: N/A

Mod: Headcrumbs
What's the bug?
Well it isn't necessarily a bug. But the spawnrate in the nether seems absurd! I'm always chased by at least 6 of these guys!
Known Fix: Well took a look at the config file. You can change group size and spawn probability. I could do both, but I don't think the spawn as much in the overworld. Guess it's a fix though.
I'm sure this is because of the way mobs spawn in the nether.
Might just play around with the 2 values and find something I like.

Mod: NEI
What's the bug?
Can't seem to change the mode to Cheat Mode, it's always in recipe mode. Can't add buttons either.
Much like what not being OP'ed on a server would be like I imagine, just on singleplayer.

Really loving the pack so far. Finished what is in of the Blood Magic questline so far. Can't wait to see what's next and making new world to try the other mods and questlines aswell :D

Next time spoiler or paste.ee that. No one wants to see that in a post. Also, what were you doing when it crashed? By the looks of it I think it crashed on world creation, but I have no clue why.
sorry i tried to put it in a spoiler but it did not register i guess  and yes it does crash on world creation
Edit:i also put it in a spoiler now :D

Alright, I need the launcher log in order to help further. I would like you to repeat the crash before proceeding. In the same folder as the crash logs (which is simply titled logs) open the file called "fml-client-latest" then copy the contents and either put them in a spoiler here or on paste.ee and link to it here.

this is more of an exploit.

Mod Pack: FTB Mage Quest 1.0.4
Mod & Version:
Hardcore Quest Mod (?)
Pastebin link to crash log:
N/a
Whats the bug?
The Reputation Turn in quest for the different magic houses accepts appropriately named paper from anvil.
Example: take 4 sheets of paper to an anvil with 20 levels and rename it "Leximani Reputation" can then be turned in four times to unlock the thaumcraft quest tree
Can it be repeated?
Yes by naming the paper properly though it is only good for one extra quest tree like if you turned in the ones from the reward bags

Mod Pack: FTB Mage Quest
Version:1.0.4
Pastebin link to crash log: N/A
Whats the bug?
Each time I use my thaumatorium, when I add the components and have the bottles ready to dispense essentia, there is no progress made in the crafting recipe. I've disconnected the tubes, rebuilt the constructs, restarted the heating source, swapped out crucibles.

Can it be repeated: Yes. I've changed recipes, reset catalysts, disassembled/reassembled all parts, tubes, heating sources.

Known fix: The only way I've been able to get the system to start working is to walk out of the loaded chunk for each of the needed essentia to be consumed. I have to do this for each aspect for each item I want to create. IE: Load glowstone for Glowstone duplication and activate recipe. Connect Sensus and Lux. Wander off, come back, only the Lux has been pulled in. Wander off, come back, Sensus pulls and item is ejected. Repeat for each item I want to craft.

Mod & Version: 1.1.0
Pastebin link to crash log: http://pastebin.com/FWRRcpuB
Whats the bug? Unable to load a world. Already deleted install and reinstalled
Can it be repeated? Been re-occurring all morning, unable to load any previous maps, nor new maps
Known Fix: - Still investigating. Someone suggested that I didn't have enough RAM dedicated, so I gave it over 15 GB. I'm wondering if it is a compatibility error with Java 1.8?

There is something wrong with version 1.1.0. We don't know what at the moment, but there should be a hotfix soon. In the meantime, please downgrade to 1.0.4.

EDIT: This is (oddly enough) caused by HQM quests and ids changing due to updates. Fixing this will require redoing parts of the quest book, which will take a bit, so you will need to downgrade if you want to play or remove HQM, which rather defeats the point, but does make the pack playable.

EDIT 2: Ok, caused by Bagginses (which is super weird and unexpected), we had to delete 3 minor quests to get the hotfix out ASAP but we should replace them again soon. Anyhow, just wait a bit and update to the latest version when it comes out.

Lag/stuttering issues in a big way. Every few seconds I get a short freeze/stutter.

Had similar problems when playing the early alpha build and maxing out all the journey map sliders helped but does not help now.

Things I've tried with no results: setting journey map's polling settings to max (like 10 seconds between), disabling journey map entirely, lowering all the vanilla graphics settings, not using a texture pack

I'd like to point out that I've played other 1.7 modpacks on FTB like Direwolf20 and Pathfinder with no issues like this. (Direwolf20 gets consistently lower framerates but none of the freeze/stuttering)

I suspect it might be hostile mob related, as I noticed before I disabled journey map that there were a bunch of uniquely named enemies spawning underground all around me. I poked my head into a cave and was immediately assaulted by a herd of the named steve shaped mobs.

Ah, that would be Headcrumbs. We might need to adjust spawn rates a bit, but I doubt it would affect framerate that much unless someone intentionally changed it. What version are you using?

Hello there!

When I tried to launch the Mage Quest pack today I didn't get the 'this is a alpha version' warning.
Are we running a beta / stable version already?

I just answered this elsewhere, but no, still alpha until more quests are written and added in, I'll bug tfox about fixing the notification. All that happened was the mods got updated and we had to delete the Bagginses quests as they were causing crashes. Beta will occur once more quests are updated.

We are in public beta, although according to some FTB staff we were never in public alpha (don't ask what that means, I don't know either).

I'm using the "Recommended" option on the version list which I assume is 1.0.4

Update: just loaded up a new world in peaceful to confirm, and it appears to the case. exploring and generating new chunks causes some minor issues but the unplayable stuttering goes away as soon as I switch to peaceful.

There isn't a crash but it is still note worthy that in the new witch craft you can no longer craft mutandis, yet in the HQM it requires i craft it meaning i can never get past this one certain quest. It took me forever to make mutandis as recipes and ways to make it have changed, now i cant even continue my questing cause the hqm requires i craft it. D: if anyone could help (as i might be stupidly over looking a small detail) i would very much appreciate it, but if it is simply an update glitch due to the change in the witchcraft recipe being over looked then i cant wait until it is fixed :)
thanks again :)

We haven't gone through the quests and checked them since everything was updated. There is new energy being put into this pack, so hopefully this will all change soon.
