Am I right when I say the universal configs don't support UE mods? If so, why not?

They probably haven't found the need to add them in yet or are in the process of it. Though they do support some of them it seems so it's probably in the works.

It'd be a shame to not. I've always enjoyed them. My favourite isn't likely to get in though. I'm afraid it'll mean to many exploded bases.

It's very possible the universal configs will support it but it won't be in any packs.

just played a little today so didn't find a bugs yet but i was wondering why the server creates mountain filled worlds.

Finding a deserts and swamp lands at y 100+ just feels weird

Probably wouldn't be terribly server friendly and I doubt there's high demand.

Shame because in large numbers it can be alot of fun. It promotes factions and teamwork. Which isn't always the best thing. I doubt explosions function well on servers, but they're rare. But TBH I don't trust most people in MC and I've only ever played it close friends.

Nope, but until that API is stable and not changeing every release it won't be in.

First off I'd like to extend my unbiased congratulations to the FTB team for (finally) pushing a 1.6 pack out the door. I think it goes without saying that it's a labor of love on their part which they didn't want to rush out and for that they didn't feel the need to compete with other existing 1.6 modpacks out there like RR or Moonquest and I respect that. It shouldn't be about competition it should be about doing something you love at your own pace to fully express your love of the project and the subject it's based on. Kudos to you.

I'd also like to express my respect on the idea to branch out and seek out mods which haven't been included in previous modpacks and in so doing shine a spotlight on packs that desperately deserve the attention that they unfortunately don't get and further more including mods that have been suggested in the thread including some that I myself have suggested, whether or not it was my suggestions that lead to the inclusion of the mods in question, I'm unsure, but what I am sure of is that in my heart of hearts I was cynical of the idea of a mod suggestion thread. I admit it, I thought it was more something for the kids to do to keep them preoccupied while the adults were doing the real work. It's good to see that the belief is dispelled and I happily retract my beliefs. Never let it be said I don't know how to eat humble pie.

I've yet to attempt trying the modpack. I've been far too busy with another, smaller, magic-based modpack and have only just discovered the pack today, however I will endevour to try and give feedback, good or bad as it deserves. My buttkissery is by no means the last word I have on the pack and I'm sure there'll be more words to come. I look forward to it.

Once again, congrats. I look forward to seeing what comes of this.

My biggest issue ATM is the lack of documentation on some of the major mods in the pack. Hopefully the exposure they get from FTB will help with that. The little info I have found is very interesting for some of the mods. I love the tech mods and Rotarycraft and Reactorcraft look like something I could get lost for weeks in. Truthfully, I am completely lost like the 1st time I played MC. Is there a way to auto harvest? Also a BC Quarry replacement without using Thaumcraft? I do like it though since I have used the same core mods for so long. It's a nice change of pace.
The things I really like after a day of tooling around a new world is the terrain gen. I turned mine to the BOP when I created the world and it seems to work with the alt terrain mod? to make the world quite interesting. Lots of biomes in a relatively close area blend together and don't seem out of place. I really like it. The new minimap is amazing. I would say it is my favorite map mod yet. I have never been able to see that much of the world while in game. The return of a RP2 logic, lighting, and wiring replacement as well as Forge multipart remind of the mod that got me started. At least that mod is like an old friend in the room of strangers.
My only gripe is I have never gotten into Thaumcraft much and I found a tainted area not far from spawn. Not sure if I should just play TC and figure out how to deal with it or just remove it from the pack..

The latter. Thaumcraft is pure evil. I cannot express my hate for it enough.

I've really loving giving this a run through! My only complaint is the Biomes 'O Plenty generation. There's way too much water. It's all islands with small combinations of different biomes and not enough land.

I also gave the ATG generation a try. Very interesting and looks great visually, but definitely a pain in the arse to get anywhere by walking.

I am super excited for the release of Dire's pack and I'm looking forward to playing along after having a good trial run with this pack and some of the new and different mods.
