The mod is broken because an unobtainable item has only one use?
It is obtainable and was useful until this change. Now users are left with useless hunks and half filled ingots which equates to wasted material. What is good about that mechanic?

it would be fixed entirely if a "tiny ingot" cast, being half an ingot, was introduced. Also, have them smeltable.

You can also use liquiducts, waterproof pipes, or liquid transport nodes to drain out excess liquid from a smeltery, basin or casting tables.

I found the mod completely awesome, but really needs documentation.

For example its not explained how to get casts. I wasted a lot of metal crafting blank casts because i didnt even thought of placing a stone piece in the table, it was mentioned nowhere...

And the casts cant even be smelted back :(

Well, ingame documentation is good, but i'd rather have a complete wiki than incomplete ingame books

(BTW, i wish the books where just one, i ALWAYS open the wrong one lol)

Actually, it does say this in the mighty smelting book. I think its that one. It's in one of them, near where it tells you how to make blank casts.

It does. But the blank cast texture lousily interrupts the middle of the paragraph.

it says that blank cast made pouring liquid metal on empty casting table, so its safe to assume that by pouring metal on non-empty casting table will make something different. it might not be that obvious but i see the logic.
however, is there a use for blank casts? i had no luck of using them as blank patterns.

You have to pour metal directly into blank casts from the smeltery.

Edit: Oops, not Blank Casts. You have to make pattern casts in the pattern maker just like the wooden ones. Then you have to pour metal into the the pattern cast

To drain out the last bits of metal, just keep smelting nuggets or oreberries until you have a full ingot. I'm not sure it is even possible to have half a nugget left, as it seems the smeltery measures its contents in nuggets. This would explain why you can't smelt chunks, since a chunk would be 4.5 ingots.
I wish you could get a tooltip on the contents when they're at less than a full ingot, though. Would make cleaning out the smeltery a lot easier.

you pour a liquid metal on empty casting table to get blank cast. then you pour metal on top of blank cast? did i get this right? if so what`s the point of this?

I made a silly mistake so I edited my old post. In later versions of Tinker's contruct you need to use the smeltery to make all metal parts. You can't make a manyullyn sword blade for example in the tool part maker. You have to make a blank cast with aluminum blast poured into an empty casting table. Then you put it in the pattern maker and select sword blade.
Then you place the sword blade cast into the casting table and pour in Manyullyn.

You put the part you want to make a cast of in the casting table then pour liquid aluminum brass or gold around it to make a part cast.
