Its been 48 hours+ since my scedualed unban, please unban me. I shouldent have talked back to you in my privous requests. Allthough I will still have that nice long talk with gingy about hearing both sides before banning.

Btw the server is back up.

UPDATE:
The server map was reset yet again, this time we have a new inventory only consisting of stone tools. Spawn is in the middle of an ocean.

Sorry for reposting. This is a question for the admins. Aren't you able to upload a backup? I thought backups were done every night. Could you give an update, so we're informed correctly about what is going on?

Several of us saw xgingy on the server and he confirmed that the server will be restored and they are still working on it.

Well I'll keep the IP in my client and check back every now and then. If someone could post here as well though that'd be great. I enjoyed playing with you guys and would hate to have to find yet another server.

My last admin reset the map without telling anyone anything and wouldn't even offer a download so we could continue in single player. He cleared the whole whitelist and didn't say much to anyone. Would hate to have that happen a second time.

Its been 50+ hours since my unban was scedualed, I would really like to be unbanned. When gingy banned me for "spam" it said I was banned for 24 hours. I think the server crashes may have screwed up the ban timer. Please let me back on.

Also the server is up again.

What experience with FTB do you have?: I've started playing FTB last fall (when Mindcrack server started). I wouldn't say I'm a pro or anything like that, but I think I know how things work and I won't get lost.
What are you looking for in this FTB server which you are applying to?: I'm pretty much searching for the holy grail - real vanilla server, which is neither dead nor accepts every kid who applies.

What experience with FTB do you have?: Before, I used to play Tekkit, but in FTB I'm a newbie.
What are you looking for in this FTB server which you are applying to?: Very good comunnity, maybe new friends and lots of fun.

The server is back online. The server initially crashed because a bug with GregTech machines in combination with Buildcraft conductive pipes. That bug crashes the server and doesn't let it restart - there is a fix I found, that requires deleting a file from the GregTech mod (which will make the pneumatic generator upgrade unusable, but there's really no reason to use it in the first place).

When deleting the file another error came up - I don't know with 100% certainty what happened, but my explanation is as follows: Gingy decompressed the modfile, deleted the file and compressed the mod again. This new compressed version was not recognized due to a compression issue with Mac (MacOS might use another compression algorithm) which led to the world being started without GregTech loaded, which in turn made all GregTech machines and items disappear. Then when shutting down the server again this version of the world was saved. Arduent and Gingy then tried to load a backup of the world which worked - unfortunately it was not our world that was backed up, but an entirely different one. I don't know how that happened, the information I have points to creeperhost fucking it up though.

That brings us to this point, at which the world had to be reset, since there was no way to restore the old one. The bug with GregTech is fixed (as a side effect pneumatic generator upgrades are unusable, as mentioned above), so there will be no issues with that particular problem in the future. I don't know if they already did, but I trust that Arduent and Gingy will make sure that the correct world will be backed up in the future.
