Alright sweet thanks! :)
You'll need to change enchant ID's for Thaunic Bases from 100, 101 and 102 to 109, 110 and 111. Well that's how it solved it for me.

Almost done. Pack loads, but there is a conflict between two mods that keeps popping your inventory screen open. Not sure what is causing it yet. No crashes though.

I crash before the game loads. I will update any mods that are out of date and try again.
Thanks heaps! I still have a bunch to add, but I'll work with this until I have a big problem again that my limited knowledge can't fix.
Did you want me to pm you if/when that happens?

Try to get the pack as-is working before you add something else, so you have a good base to work from. That makes it much easier to add things going forward. Two minor differences between your original list and mine is the Calendar mod and the Backpacks mod. Both require the Grim3212-Core mod... I didn't care at all for those, so I replaced them with Calendar-GUI (which does the same thing without the extra dependency) and the Backpacks mod from Eydamos, which I think is overall pretty darn good. It offers more functionality than the other Backpacks mod, while still remaining pretty sensible with the crafting requirements.

Once you get that stable, let me know what other mods you'd like to add and I'll see if they can fit in. If you have issues getting the current set working, PM me and we can compare notes/configs.

Also, do NOT update NotEnoughKeys to the latest version. The one I have is only slightly newer than the one you listed, but is NOT the latest version. The newest version has a very serious bug that I'd mentioned earlier -- the inventory screen keeps popping open uncontrollably and makes the game unplayable. It may only be an interaction issue with one of your other mods, but it is certainly the mod that causes the behavior.

Okay so I'm editing the fourth episode now (finally?). It's going to be a long editing session.

Here on out I will AIM to have an episode recorded, compressed, edited, and uploaded by Sunday. This depends on episode length and what other things interrupted me during recording. It also depends on what I'm doing during the week, because even though I'm a week ahead in my class I still have a 10-page research paper (double spaced, 12-point font, APA style) to have COMPLETE by the end of the class (classes are 8 weeks, and the grade for the paper is broken up into chunks that will be graded according to when they're due). The first chunk is due at the end of next week (research your topic and make an outline for the paper). The chunks after that are:
  • Strand one: Historical Significance (of whatever math thing you chose to research) - Due by end of Week 3
  • Strand two: Mathematics (what's the math behind the thing you're researching?) - Due by end of Week 4
  • Strand three: Real-World Applications - Due by end of Week 5
  • Entire paper (Cover page, Introduction, Strands, Conclusion, and References all in APA format) - Due by end of Week 7

Welcome to college, Monarch. Welcome to college.

Oooh neat! I was in the department of mathematics in University. Anything physics is mathematics and thus reasonably applicable to games, parabolic projections (Worms), Gravity (Damn you Minecraft Sand), Boolean Logic (Redstone), Newton's laws (Space Engineers and really most other realistic space games). I'm sure there are other applications. "Real world" I am presuming is not theoretical. There's also compound interest which is greatly useful for understanding financial investments.

The concept of 0 was a big one but very simple to us now.

Heh I'm a geek.

This is a class intended for people that are uncomfortable with the subject of math (because, like it or not, you still have to take math) and is meant to be a last-ditch effort to get them to understand why we need it. While, yes, everyone can agree we use basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division on a daily basis, we don't usually find ourselves figuring out a problem using, say, algebra. It's supposed to help strike our interest again by teaching only the coolest parts of math (number theory, chaos theory, fractals, numbers in nature, etc..). So, no, "real-world" is not theoretical in this case. We have to find what these things are used for in the real-world or what we may use them for, as well as know all about the math that goes into it.

Math is vitally important, right up until you get through basic Algebra. Past that point, it's only really useful in STEM fields, and generally a limited sub-set of the "higher" maths.

Good luck on the research paper. What "math thing" are you choosing?

Hopefully you get conversion ratios figured out if you go anywhere near airplanes in a future career...

The Gimli Glider is an example of a "real world" situation where the 61 passengers on that plane would agree that math can be pretty darn important. :)

I'd go with trigonometry instead. Lots more useful real-world applications, and the rules aren't hard to use.

The problem with Trigonometry, Geometry, and Calculus is that they're only EVER useful for Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics fields. You use (basic) algebra all the time, even if you don't think you are; i will guarantee that unless you're engineering something (or a nerd), you aren't using Trig

Even carpenters need Trig just to properly box a joist.

The math I use is to figure out how much money i've already spent in the store, certain ratios, figuring out the multiples of 8 (because minecraft is based on them), and counting how much time I'll have to sleep if I say, stay up until 6 and set my clock for 10:30. Most of this stays in the realm of basic operations and hardly ever branches out beyond that (with exception to calculating exactly how much cobble I need to mine from my generator and how much of that needs to stay raw, turn into stairs, and be smelted so it can be crafted into bricks).

So, for me, Minecraft is usually the most advanced math I ever get into.

Also: I'm thinking about doing a paper on numbers/patterns in nature (one of the subjects we'll be glossing over in the class and was suggested in the official document about the requirements for the paper. Seems very interesting based on what Wikipedia has on it).

The golden ratio and Fibonacci's sequence are definitely interesting.

Incidentally that's all basic algebra that you listed off. You start with Y money, you have X money now, which means you've spent Z money. Y-X=Z. The sleeping thing is 10.5-6=N. Like I said, basic algebra is everywhere. It's actually what you're doing in elementary school with those "find the answer" problems. What is 5+5? ... 5+5=X ... X=10
