Hey everyone!

This may be my last (for now) Friday update. Fret not however, I'm just shifting the series to Wednesday starting next week to spread out the Agrarian Skies 2 challenge videos.

For this week I took some inspiration from the latest Mystcraft update. Specifically I was looking at making a grand dimensional library.

Mobius For Regent: S6 Ep 30 - Mystcraft and LookingGlass

This is just the start of it, obviously with the walls and roof incomplete. I'm thinking of pushing through with Botania to get prismarine for the roof and make a dome like central chamber similar to the roof on the star observatory in Myst http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myst#/media/File:MystCover.png

Thoughts and commentary?

My thoughts are that there really need to be more hours in the day, or another of me so I can actually catch up on the massive backlog of awesome content I keep finding! I'm still stuck back in the unleashed era for your series Mobius!

Not enough hours, and me all ADD. *sigh*

There's a lot of content out there, but much of it is just "meh" or worse. :) @The Mobius Archives and @VaalDeth are pretty consistent and good to watch. I've seen way too many that start out pretty good and then sizzle out after 3 or 4 episodes, never to be heard from again.

A guy I've mentioned before named StormFrenzy (not a member of these forums, at least not under that name) has a really good Minecraft series in a world he calls Tiveden. He's slowed down a little bit, but what he comes up with is consistent and brilliant. He also has a series of tutorial videos where he shows you how he comes up with some of his designs. They're quite good as well.

Here's a link to his YouTube page if interested: StormFrenzy's YouTube Page.

Oh, not just R2R content. I've got a huge list of comics (webcomics and manga, American comics (Marvel, DC and the like) by and large can go stuff themselves), multiple TV shows, enough book series to fill a decent public library, at least 7 (I haven't actually looked at my subscription list in a while) reasonably prolific youtube personalities, not to mention the upkeep for World of Warcraft (all my friends play it, and now I can support the account with in-game gold), and playing MC myself when I can manage to not be troubleshooting and tweaking my personal modpacks and/or servers. And that's just the stuff taking up my leisure time :p

There are not nearly enough hours in the day!

And you have now earned my temporary ire and lasting gratitude for linking me ANOTHER minecraft youtuber that gets stuck into the queue! After just watching a short video and looking at the channel. I like his ideas, his voice is pleasant (the voices I have to put up with when I look for mod spotlights and tutorials and couldn't find one from any of my regulars *shudder*), and he has a fun mix of aesthetic and functional. Thanks @Senseidragon, mostly :p

At least I'm nearly done with my backlog of Direwolf20, and I've discovered that I don't like enough of Etho's Server Play stuff to deal with the 5 seasons that were on my back burner. I discovered that I don't like multiplayer content where the recorder (or the community in general) makes an effort to do planned events. I much prefer free-form content with a bunch of friends hanging out and helping each other (or not) as they please. Also basically every event is either a prank, and therefore repetitive as a 5-clock, or is some form of PvP minigame... which were boring to me back in Alpha.

I'm glad you checked in on StormFrenzy. I do really like his material. While I don't have as extensive a list of things in queue, I sometimes get overwhelmed simply by trying to keep up with the dozens of variations of the 'perfect' modpack for me and my family/friends. We just finished a multiplayer skyblock with mixed, though mostly positive, results. We found a few mods that absolutely will never go in another pack of mine again though. MooFluids is certainly creative, but... oh my gosh that's just so wrong and broken it isn't funny.

My next iteration I actually had to really push to NOT include an over-abundance of tech. I've limited tech specifically to two mods. Progressive Automation and Ancient Warfare. That's it. The rest is pretty much magic. Thaumcraft, Botania, Blood Magic, Ars Magica and the like. I know you can get similar results to what you can with Tech, but it takes a more roundabout way to do it. It'll be interesting to see what the group comes up with.

Ancient Warfare has been getting a little more interesting to me, not for the PVP aspects, though that is interesting for those that like it, but as an exercise in "how can I fit this into R2R". It always seems to come back to that for me.

While I wait for some significant new feature to arrive with Custom NPCs and/or HQM to cause me to revisit those, I'm spending my time lately seeing what I can do with Ancient Warfare, Realistic World Generation and Custom Ore Generation. If nothing else, the world looks nice.

As an aside, my daughter has banned me from using the Gravestone mod any more. I can use the Lootable Bodies mod, but no more Gravestone. Apparently stringing up a bunch of villagers, putting a few in the stocks, and burning one at the stake was not to her liking.

I just wanted to see what the blocks did, honest!

I also want see what those blocks do... The question is do my citizens? Hmm... I'm seeing thieves murderers and assassins. Mob bosses, and underworld figures. I see hidden bases and tortured souls...

*Sigh* why do I need a paid job again?

Did I link Reasonable Realism here?

http://reasonable-realism.wikia.com

Totally interesting idea for R2R, at least for me. No it isn't currently publicly released. I pestered the author for beta access, and already found a few major (crashing) bugs, hehe.
Think I'll stick with EnviroMine for now. At least there's physics support for Underground Biomes.

Yep. Mining dimension, a little world gen, fun stuff with air quality, temperature, and sanity. I adjusted what I wanted to work with for my version of the challenge pack.

Yeah, Ulduar is interesting/fun to get through. I'm still working on the achievements for both 10/25; been delayed by doing legendary weapon questline for my guild. (Almost done with it.)

Awww thanks a lot I appreciate it!

This week I have an episode I'm very proud of that took many hours to produce, hope you all enjoy! The tutorial is linked in the video description.

Nice ship Vaal! If you do get Archimedes ships you can bump up the block number and it may sail nicely. Though there is a bug in the 1.6 or 1.5 version that causes too many water particles to drag down the frame rate and you might want to turn off particle effects when sailing.

"This is just for dramatic effect... Oh crap!" -- @The Mobius Archives, 2015

The chisel carpeting in the big tent was kinda neat, but the tomb robbing shenanigans were pretty darn entertaining.

@Senseidragon I'm glad you enjoyed it! I like both building and exploring (as you can probably tell from my channel) it's about finding the right balance too. Plus fun. Fun always helps :)

Hey everyone,

A little progress today, and I got my stuff back :) Completed our tomb exploration and showed off an off-camera build of our road that will eventually connect the dig-site to our city.

Nice work you've done working on connecting your outliers, and a pretty nice haul from that tomb! Are you thinking of relocating the tomb itself to a museum in another area, or preserving it where it is?

On a side note, I've also started watching your (older) series on Fallout 3. Pretty good stuff!

Your video was pretty good, and I learned way more than I thought I even wanted to know about ships by following the tutorial link you gave.

I know it was frustrating building the dry dock, but I definitely would have liked to see you overcome that challenge (as others not savvy with worldedit would have to) within the game. Not sure what mods you have, but sponges and pumps are two potential aids for removing water that you may or may not have had available to you.

Heck, if you're more into the nerd-like solution and have computercraft available, you could even have whipped up a turtle or two to drop a wall of sand at a time to slowly remove the water.

Still, I understand why you took the shortcut. Just wanted to point out a missed opportunity for some out-of-the-box creative thinking, which you're pretty good at.

Edit: Obviously, the pump would probably be beyond the scope of your current age, but the turtle may not have been if the mod was even installed, and a sponge (again, if you had it) is pretty low tech.
