That's why you include a hole in the floor that it's in, just chuck a hollow cover on top or something so items can get through but mobs can't. That and put it near your kill hole to lower chance of items escaping.
I just said I tried hollow slabs. And with the vacuum hopper directly underneath it.
Consider using the Vacuum Hopper for just XP, and use a Botania Hopperhock to collect drops, since it can collect through solid blocks. Note that I'm not playing the pack currently, so I've no idea if you can access them before starting into TC.
Hm. That is actually maybe a good idea. Although, hopperhocks are quite expensive and the vacuum hopper would still pull the items. Plus, the vacuum hopper can't collect exp through walls anyways, just as players can't collect exp through walls. I've tried putting it in the corners of the surrounding walls but it for some reason can't collect all of the exp, just some of it.

Also, as a total aside, does anyone know of any devices that break blocks automatically using a tool I give it, preferably one that doesn't require power or requires very little power? I know the autonomous activator is one, but I was wondering if there were any others.

Thaumic Tinkerer's Tool Dynamism Tablet can also left- and right-click items. It and the AA are the only ones I know of off the top of my head.

There are some other mods that have block breakers that require the use of pickaxes to function, but I don't remember what any of them are called.

Someone (Watchful I believe) posted a couple days ago that the bottom of the world spawns nodes. Which means you will need to figure out a way to get down there without splutting.

^This.

DW20 has a bunch marked with little platforms beneath each in his LP. Like Pyure said, getting there is part of the challenge :)

Also, is there a way to repair ex compressum compressed hammers without having to craft another hammer of the same type and then crafting that with it? I mean, that's basically just wasting durability.

i'd probably rock waterfall + angel blocks. I'm assuming we still have angel blocks though.

Also, because I'm a rank coward, I'd do a 3x3 waterfall rather than 1x1.

Use item/fluid transport of your choice to drain your Vacuum Hopper (it can be set to auto export). This allows you to use the Vacuum Hopper to pick up the XP and drops without being accessible directly by the player. Add in a decent sized tank and a Storage Drawers Controller for an easy on-site storage solution.

Alternatively, you can fill each item slot in the Vacuum Hopper with cobblestone and let the Hopperhock collect the items.

I don't think you quite understand my issue. What I'm saying is I don't know where to put the vacuum hopper in the first place. It can't collect exp through walls so it would have to be in the mob farm somehow, but I can't figure out a way to do that properly without it getting in the way. Plus, I'm having trouble making it to where I'm still able to kill the mobs but have the vacuum hopper pick up the drops instead, since sometimes the drops just shoot out the sides of the thing.

If you use up most of the durability on two separate hammers (rather than combining an old hammer with a fresh one), you should be able to craft them together (in a crafting table) to combine their durabilities and get a little extra. I think doing so gets you about 10% more uses total than just using up the hammers completely. Of course, it also requires that you micromanage your tools a little more than people usually seem to in modded MC, but meh.

I think there's also a way to put a compressed-hammer modifier on a Tinker's Construct tool, which you could then repair any way you like.

Actually, as far as I know it's only a regular hammer, and you do so by putting an unused diamond hammer in there with the Tinker's Construct tool. The only problem, though, is it seems to make it INCREDIBLY SLOW.

I dunno. I vaguely remember reading about a compressed hammer upgrade on the news thread; I don't know if Ex Compressum adds it natively or if there's yet another addon, and I also don't know if that version of the mod is in Infinity Skyblock or not.

The double compressed diamond hammer is an item apparently specifically for that purpose. Its only use is to put on a TC tool as a modifier that gives it Smashing II, which I assume makes it able to act like a compressed hammer. You make the double compressed diamond hammer with 4 compressed diamond hammers.

Are Forestry machines upgradable? I notice Empty sockets on the Centrifuge and Squeezerm but can't find information on what can I shove there.

I believe you have to take the circuit boards made in the carpenter and apply tubes from a thermowhatsit with a soldering iron and then you can put them in, different tubes having a variety of different effects.

And there is no tutorial/wiki on this? I found some info regarding the circuits, but only when it comes to upgrade energy production machines...

Sure there is, for example here is the page on the soldering iron. Probably best to check the tooltips in game for the tubes, seem to remember those being more informative, and they should always be up to date too.

What is the point in the Blutonium bee species?

Yellorium bees I get, in fact that's a large part of my base power supply at the moment. But Cyanite and Blutonium? I can see the utility of the actual materials part of the recycling mechanic in BigReactors...but why would you ever want to produce them?

EDIT: in fact, some of the other bee species are a bit pointless too. Acidic bees that produce acid which has no crafting purpose at all etc...

The Ludicrite recipe that requires Blutonium, so you can skip building a reactor and go straight into turbines, if you find you have a better source of steam.

Cyanite, however, makes no sense as you can craft it simply with a Yellorium ingot and sand...

Edit: Acidic bees seem pointless, unless you want to make a pool of acid on your evil wizard tower... I mean, you can't breed acidic to get any aboce tier bee.

Cyanite being craftable with yellorium is a config option, so bees could be useful. Although yellorium is easy enough to convert to cyanite normally.

Did not know it was a config option. But looking further into it, you need Cyanite to build turbines so, using bees, you can skip building a reactor at all

Quick question... I am playing on FTB Infinity Evolved and I am messing with the ME Storage Drives. I know I can partition a cell so that, cobblestone for example, will only go onto that cell. What I want to know is if there is a way to specifically set the system so that once that cell fills up, any extra cobble will not be accepted on any other drives.

thanks in advance
