Is there anything that will kill creepers in 1 hit, they just keep exploding.
Sharpness IV or higher diamond sword (or a high-sharpness Tinkers cleaver has a tendency to kill creepers quickly). Or a bow with a decent Power enchant (III or higher), possibly plus fire.

most of that I had figured out (didn't think of vanilla weapons as I normally am a TiCo user, I GUESS I could use them.) for me it's gonna be moving them to the blood alter when needed, and what to do with them when not.

I did some testing and here's what I found, this method will give you MORE than the mob juice used to spawn a creature.
XP can not be transferred to a liquid via the vacuum hopper.
and pistons will save me some trouble in movement control
I assumed as much, but even if you don't need the info, someone else stumbling through the thread might find it useful.

Regarding the vacuum hopper and XP...Openblocks turns the XP orbs into liquid XP. You can pipe this into a tank, then right-click the tank to get it out and raise your players XP level. There's a few more blocks to make use of it, but they're disabled in AgSkies. MFR turns the orbs into Mob Essence via a sewer, which is used for auto-spawners/enchanters, and to give a night-vision buff.

Again, assuming you knew that. If you're using the vacuum hopper for mob item drops, it'll pick up orbs until it's full, then you can use a sewer to collect everything else. Although it is nice to have a convenient way to walk up and quickly level when you want to copy a book, apply it to a tool, etc.

I was only confirming what was stated earlier.

Ended up using etheric swords with sharpness 5 and looting 3 :) a sword with fire aspect is bad for endermen :/ creepers still blow up if there are more than them in the area, but it happens much less often.

unfortunetly, this did not solve my issue, I am still not seeing angry zombies. :/

ok, I'm gonna lose my marbles soon, I've tried everything I can think of and a few things that make no sense to create/spawn an angry zombie and no dice. any suggestions

I've had three starts (but no finishes, sadly) to AS. Two 'Home Sweet Home' and one 'Flat'. In the two Home starts, I built a mob tower pretty much where the starter tree was - which was definitely not a Magical Forest, yet tons of Brainy Zombies popped out of there.

But in the 'Flat' start I couldn't get any - even after finding a Magical Forest. So, I did what others are suggesting - I laid out a bunch of temporary fenced-off dark areas around and about the map, waited for night and saw which ones had brainy zombies spawning. Eventually found one and rebuilt my mob tower there. Not perfect but it did work.

Just wanting to get a potentially simple problem out of the road, are you attempting to spawn regular zombies to get angry zombies?

I'm spawnning everything under the sun... er.. well everything in the dark[DOUBLEPOST=1407236713][/DOUBLEPOST]

Were you able to find out which biome they spawned in? I just need 1 to shove in my MFR spawnner.

Can't remember, I'm afraid - will check later when I get home.

Does anybody know if the biomes are same for everyone every time you start a map? If true, then somebody else might be able to check now what biome the starter tree is in.

In regards to Angry Zombies, we were getting unlucky as well for the spawns until we came up with a solution to it. It can be hard to notice an angry zombie spawn when you are distracted by other builds and it is not worth your time just sitting and waiting.

With that in mind we made a mob sorter, using mob routers in MFR we singled out every mob in safari nets that we did not want as they spawned from the dark room, and routed any further mobs of the same type into a grinder area, all apart from zombies. When the first zombie came through it was a normal zombie so we captured it and placed it in the mob sorter filtered on sub types. Then it was just a matter of time before the sorter had discarded all the mobs we did not want and killed them automatically and left us with just an angry zombie, we captured this in a safari net and placed it in a mob spawner with the exact match setting and got to completing our quest.

There is a video of us building the mob sorter in my Agrarian Skies series on my Youtube channel. Unfortunately I can't remember if it was in episode 11, 12 or 13. I think it was most likely in episode 12 around an hour into the video (my videos are long for this series as we run it as a Live Show).

TLDR: To find angry zombies, use MFR's mob-sorters.

A sewer? Does the XP have to hit the ground, because I can just import that into the ME liquid system.
The sewer absorbs/converts the XP orbs into mob essence. Visually, it looks like they fall through the grate on top of the sewer block. Depending on what level of upgrade you've given the sewer [and its placement], the orbs may not have to 'touch the ground'. If, on the other hand, you're thinking of piping in XP?...I dunno and have seen nothing published indicating this is possible.

Snip...
If you're using the vacuum hopper for mob item drops, it'll pick up orbs until it's full, then you can use a sewer to collect everything else. Although it is nice to have a convenient way to walk up and quickly level when you want to copy a book, apply it to a tool, etc.
This is almost exactly my setup. I dedicate my main mob tower [everything except spiders] to producing mob essence. I build a single-level spider spawn room [9x9] and have XU conveyors for the floor all pointing towards another weaponized AA solely for Liquid XP production [for convenience :)]. It's slow to produce, but once you get going you don't use XP often. If you do need the XP more often, a Blaze spawner moved from Hell can easily supplement.

the spawn room has ran for a bit no brains, and the swords have looting 3. Does the beginning biome have anything to do with mob spawn?

It started as an ocean biome and was transformed into an Enchanted Forrest biome via silverwood trees.

The starting biome has no effect, as far as the game is concerned, that area has been an enchanted forest for its entire life.

Keep in mind, in AgS the angry zombie spawning rate is low
EDIT: I recommend setting up a mob sorting system like the one described earlier in this thread

eh.. I'll humor ya, it'll give me something to do while manually breeding imperial bees (RNG is evil)

The system has ran for more than 48 hours with no brains there should at least be 1 by now.

Maybe you can get a villager. Catch him in a net. Put him in a spawner thing. Spawn a ton of villagers and then pour witch water on all of them. At least one of them will probably turn into a zombie with brains?
