  • Tweaked a few more configs to try to figure out the hunger issue upon respawn
As a side note...thanks to all the wonderful people who helped to get this pack to where it is with ideas and bugs, the pack being listed is awesome! I have you guys to thank for that! As of this posting, this pack is at 15k downloads...that's over 10k downloads in just a few days!

What is the method for updating? I usually use the direct link as I don't use the ftb launcher to run. Copying the updated files from the download and pasting them over new files always kills minecraft loads. I dunno what I am doing wrong.

so umm.... want to report a mayor point of lag, altough my thought would be that i just have to go there again:
after meeting the ancient, and accepting his offer i wait for stuf to load. everything loads, i spawn: i walk for abit and boom massive lag spike hits. got killed by this aswell -_-. love the offer btw :D, if i may ask: why was this done(PM me if you feel that answering here would be too much of a spoiler).

I think you might want to wait for the world to load more. You might also want to reload the map. Exit the save and re-load it.

Well, using the direct link is a bit more advanced, but since the map has stabilized you typically only need to copy over the mod and config folders and ocaisionally I will mention copying the customnpc folder from the template.

That would be why when you teleport there is a bright red warning in chat to not move until the world finishes loading.

and i follow that warning to the letter :p. nevermind btw: seems there are more then 1 location you can spawn in. again: nice work, the entire mod pack is just amazing.

For FPS issues, one thing that I have not seen explicitly mentioned. While the texture packs looks very nice, they also can cause a major hit to FPS. If you have FPS issues then use the default Minecraft textures.

Another thing that I have found which will help with FPS issues, but is not for the faint of heart :)

Run the pack as a server and then connect to the server with your client. As long as you have the RAM available (you need at least 3Gig for the server and 3Gig for the client), you can run both on the same computer. If you are not technically inclined and have never setup a Minecraft server, then I do not recommend trying this.

@GreatOrator

I suggest you update the FPS Solutions.txt file with the latest Optifine B4 since the one you suggest has invisible texture issues with the current Forge versions. Also, you may want to add turning off Vsync as that gives a decent boost to FPS for people not using Optifine.

this! just this :). turning of vsync has increased my FPS with atleast 10. from a average of 25 to 35+ and sometimes even reaching the 50

I really don't recommend Optifine at all though, It doesn't render some blocks and that's really tedious to me, Almost every single Chisel block isn't rendered and they're just invisible-space-hoggers.

Fastcraft has shown to increase my FPS a lot more than Optifine ever has, so my Thanks to you entirely, Player.

You need to use the latest versions of Optifine. They do not have the render issues. No more invisible blocks. You also need to fiddle with the options to squeeze a little more FPS out of it.

My experience has been that Fastcraft and Optifine seem to give about the same FPS boost individually. Using both at the same time only seems to give a greater FPS boost when out in the wild. (as in no machines or anything around except natural terrain and that is after any chunk creation) The main reason I use Optifine is for the FPS smoothing. Something was causing "micro lag spikes" and Optifine helped with that. Although this mod pack does not seem to have that issue. I'm going to play without Optifine for a while and see how things go. Definitely keeping Fastcraft, though.

I'm still looking for ways to reduce loss of FPS from having a fair amount of machines around in a base. (watching task manager, the java process does not max out a cpu so i don't know why I lose FPS) If anyone has any suggestions on that, I'd appreciate it.

@GreatOrator I use the FTB launcher. After updating to 2.3.8 I am no-longer able to launch the pack. The following Error message pops up!
"Forge Mod Loader has found a problem with your minecraft installation. The mods and versions listed below could not be found. 'Forestry: minimum version required is 3.' The file ForgeModLoader-client-0.log contains more information.

Oh, and the ancient guy only gave me one quest. I hit escape on the second part of talking to him, and I cant continue with his quests?

I'm not sure. I tried manually replacing the Forestry .jar with the latest release, since I noticed the pack is trying to use an older unstable version anyway, but all that does is kick the complaint down to immibisCore being "missing". And I'm certain if I fix that it'll just complain about something else and still refuse to load, so I'm not sure what to do.

I can't find the supposed 'ForgeModLoader-client-0.log' file anywhere. So I think for now I'm just going to revert to 2.3.7
