i like this mod pack but when i search for a tank my whole game crashes so i reload the game and when i try to search for something else it crashes, i dont want to start a new world

Found this for you a few pages back. See if it works.

no its a common issue with a reletively simple config change to fix it (basically the issue is render lag )

simple fix : open mekinism configs > prefilled tanks: false

the config line is this one after set to false
"B:refilledPortableTanks=false" without the quote marks of course

The Progressive Automation quest requires bedrock...

Thats because prog. auto has been removed from the pack. So that is probably a miss or just a block on progress until the quest chain is removed or something new is added.

I found your modpack on the FTB launcher. It's a great concept and very well done so far. I do have some problems with crashing though that I thought I might bring to your attention even though I'm not sure if it's a problem on my end.

I loaded the modpack 2 separate times. The first time it froze when I just finished crafting shears and I had to force quit. This did not generate a crash report. The second time it froze then crashed when I opened my inventory. This one did generate a crash report and I'll attach it below. I doubt what I was doing had anything to do with the crash and it's seemingly random. What I did notice was that prior to the screen freezing in the
FTB launcher there is the same entry "[TIMESTAMP] [Client thread/INFO] [STDOUT/]: [com.carliman.toolbox.inventory.InventoryToolbox:<init>:49]: new TagCompound created".

**EDIT Nevermind. I'm an idiot, it's inventory thing because I had my inventory open. Ignore that I guess.


The crash report generated for the second time I played cited a "java.lang.NullPointerException: Ticking entity" .

*edit: Seems to have something to do with thaumcraft.*

I really like this modpack. However, I get ridiculous frame rendering spikes that drop my frame rate from 120fps down to 0 in a regular interval of about 5-10 seconds. This happens even when I'm standing still looking at a wall.

I'm running on 16 gigs of ram with 4 gigs allotted each to server and client with an i5 3570k cpu.

This is the only modpack this happens with.

Also, I can't even play this on a single player world. the FPS is 2 all the time.

Any ideas?

ODD THING in v.12, one dispenser set up like this would dispense one coal..then 10 endoflames would burn. I didn't get it. I could burn 10 endoflames from a single coal dropped onto that wooden pressure plate..

That's a visual bug. If you use a Wand of the Forest to click each flower, you can see which one ACTUALLY burned the coal. The ones that didn't burn it will lose the flame.

I've played thru a few different changes to the overall Supply/Contract system, and wanted to ask if you could explain your thoughts on why changes were made, or what you wanted to accomplish with it. Is it where you want it to be now, or do you feel that you still want to tweak something else?

I've been wondering about this too. The new update, visually, is no different than the last and I wonder if there is a global script that may be causing a memory leak somewhere.

Hi Caigan,

I discovered three things about massive lags in the game.
First is a server thing, because the effects are also realized by other players. When you are farming and you try to pick up things (it does not matter what it is) but your inventory is already full, the server gets massive lags. It seems he tries to fill the stuff to the inventory but its not possible.
Second seems to be a similar effect. Fill up a chest with random things (the more things are in there, the bigger is the lag, but it also works with a simple wooden chest). If you then remove the chest all the things in there will pop up, and your character tries to pick them up. But even with an empty inventory the server gets incredible lag issues, which can be recognized by all players. Again ... it does not matter what kind of item it is. It seems to be the same issue like point one, but with a different source.
Both of this issues do not produce any server logs besides something like "Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 2551ms behind, skipping 51 tick(s)" (Got also messages like 16k ms behind). We played the Galactic Science modpack before on the same server and we did not have any problems like that.
Third thing seems to be a client thing. After some time playing (more than 3 or 4 hours) the client is running in a memory issue. Even with FTB Launcher configured with 3.75GB using for java the task manager shows me two java processes. One is running with 4.4 to 4.6 gb of memory which is the modpack itself, because it finishes when i quit the game. And yes, it takes this amount of memory even with the max-amount configured to 3.75gb. The second is running with 2.2 to 2.4 gb of memory which is the ftb-launcher. It still keeps this amount of memory, even if I quit the Modpack. Again, we did not have this issues with other modpacks. When it reaches this critical amount of memory the client starts to run at 100% of CPU. The only way is to quit the launcher and then restart the game. I know that java is a bit bad in this, but we never had problems like that before. The server itself just runs smoothly at this time and other players are not effected. But every player has this problem .. only at different times.

Unfortunately the logs do not say anything so here comes what I can say about the configurations.
Since 0.1.3 we are using the standard modpack provided by your team. The only thing we disabled is the YAMST mod. It is disabled at the server and also at the clients.
The clients do have different configurations, but as far as I know they are mostly running 8GB machines with something around 2 to 3.75 GB of memory for java configured in the ftb-launcher. The java versions are up to date ... not sure what the lastest versions is right now. There was an java update at the beginning of April if I remember correctly. The os are mostly windows machines.
The server is running in a centos with a 3.10.0-327.10.1.el7.x86_64 Kernel. The memory allocated and the java start parameters for this modpack are

My brother ran into a issue like this. I thought it was that he had broken a wall of chests on accident with his hammer. We abandoned that server save and used the original server setup I had made a few hours before. I think it could be that the lag might actually be the first point you raised. The inventory only stays empty for a instant. Then the game is trying to fit all those items into it. By then it is lagging the game so much that the players inventory still appears to be empty.

Not that dumping the items from a wall of full chests on the ground won't bring the game to its knees just by itself. It never was able to handle that all that well.

Perhaps hits helps ... there a way to much entries in the logfile anyways. only from today with playing around 6 hours the fml-client-latest.log is around 113MB ... and most of it are the entries above and others are "java.lang.NullPointerException" in several variations

Love the modpack and the mods you added in the last update seem really cool. Love the new mobs that are in the world.

One mod that I'd like to see added in some future update is Logistic Pipes. It provides some functionality AE 2 doesn't and I suspect would play well with the simply drawers mod that is already in the pack.

I cant seem to get my game to work, i can play for 10 or so minutes and it will randomly close, there is no crash report, and it closes to fast to get a log. You suggested I delete the morph mod, and another suggested i lower my RAM, it was at 7.75GB, i lowered it to 4GB. Any suggestions as to what i could do?

Perhaps hits helps ... there a way to much entries in the logfile anyways. only from today with playing around 6 hours the fml-client-latest.log is around 113MB ... and most of it are the entries above and others are "java.lang.NullPointerException" in several variations

Hellfish are the Nether version of Silverfish and they're supposed to populate Netherak like Silverfish do various version of cobble/stone.... Did this happen in the Overworld map? If so it DEFINITELY seems like a problem.

Other thing is to lower ALL graphical options. I don't put my render distance above 7-8 chunks if possible, and I leave room between my normal FPS and the FPS limit. everything else is off/low.

I think i have a 5 chuck render distance and most of my graphics are on low, my computer has 1.9 GHz and idk about the number of cores, I'm not great with the technical side of computers, i can build them and troubleshoot some minor problems that's about it. I've tried to learn to code but it didn't seem worth the effort, kinda regretting that now.
