Yay! I had grabbed the Dropbox link and it worked, but I just got the '0.0.5' update and it's nice to finally see this from a launch via the FTB Launcher :)

Caigan, issue. Just installed 0.0.5 and started over.

Wood Pickaxe can mine stone but not coal
Stone Pickaxe can mine stone but not coal or iron
Iron Pickaxe can mine stone and coal but not iron (had to cheat and give myself one just to check)
The 4th quest, "It's The Name of the Game" is thus broken, you cannot get an iron ore nor a coal with either the wood or the stone. Thus impeding any further progress.
And I agree, it is the name of the game, "Mine"Craft, but unable to mine.
Going to wipe my game and start over again to confirm but so far that's what I found.
Again, I just wiped and installed 0.0.5 about 45 minutes to an hour ago. This is a fresh install right off the FTB download.
----
Edit, while waiting to test this again, has anyone else seen similar behaviour?
---
Edit, ok 2nd time around saw the same thing except
iron pickaxe can mine iron. Just not dense iron.
However, the same still holds true and quest cannot move forward nor can player get iron pickaxe, since in order to get the iron ore for the quest you need an iron pickaxe, to make an iron pickaxe you need iron ore to make iron ingots, to get the iron ore you need an iron pickaxe, but you need an iron pickaxe to get iron ore and the circular logic goes on ad infinitum.
----
Note, I realize you are using Tinkers Construct leveling of tools (went digging in configs) however, the tools break before they level up and cannot repair them.
For example, my stone pickaxe gets wore out and I have to replace it with another one that starts over at beginning level again. Cannot repair stone tool at crafting table.
-----
Numerous restarts and reloads and see the same issue no matter what I try. The only way to get Iron Ore and Coal is to cheat and give myself an iron pickaxe. Completely unable to get past stone tool level.

good luck on finding 0.0.4 update maybe its hiding under the kitchen sink?
Betcha its hiding in the garbage disposal, waiting for me to turn it on and rattle around!

Also what chunk loaders are in the pack. Cant seem to find any or am I missing something?
MFR has a chunkloader, but there is also Dimensional Anchors in the update.

Wood Pickaxe can mine stone but not coal
Yeah, this is an Iguana Tweaks setting I forgot to change. It adds a few middle tiers to progression : flint then copper between stone and iron, bronze after iron, then obsidian, ardite, cobaltite, and finally manyullyun

This will be changed back to normal in 0.0.6

IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE THIS BACK YOURSELF
In your configs, theres an IguanaTweaks folder. Open Modules.cfg and change :
B:HarvestLevelTweaks to False

Wondering if anyone else has seen this concerning RFTools machines. I checked the Github for Rftools and there has not been a report for this and no console error so just wondering if others also have the same issue before reporting it.

If you infuse a machine with shards it will register the % of infusion but as soon as you place the machine it reverts back to 0%.

Edit: Ok updated RFTool to 2.55 and now it shows the infusion on Waila so apparently it is not losing the infused data when a block is placed but just may not send the % to Waila to display so it always shows as 0%. Once I updated previously infused blocks showed proper infusion %.

use tinkers to make a flint pick then mine copper smelt copper to make a copper pick should probably be a quest for this. its not a bug its iguana tweaks.
edit to repair tinkers tools put inside the tool forge or the tool station

Caigan,

Thank you, and yes, that appears to have been the issue.

I like the idea of a progression (I play Tolkiencraft too and they make you progress your tools up and then build better quality tools with higher end ingredients. I think that is the direction you are thinking of going?
It simply appeared to not work yet in your implementation.

I know how to use Tinkers, however his quests do not imply building Tinkers Tool tables, etc.
They imply simple normal tool progression.

As noted, I use tinkers in Tolkiencraft. I think he should insert a Tinkers quest right after the wood weapons quest, prior to trying for Iron, since without following the Tinker Build route you won't get very far.

And the leveling is not taking place on the tools. So there is still an issue at hand.

Some players might not have used Tinkers.

sounds good did u added more quests already?
The Update Formerly Known as 0.0.4 (now 0.0.5) has about 40 new quests for folks to do
The 0.0.6 update has 7 quests complete, and about 15 more being worked on (working on the quest chain itself), and about 25 more planned minimum.

Ok updated RFTool to 2.55 and now it shows the infusion on Waila
RFTools and WAILA are on the list for needing updates for 0.0.6

It simply appeared to not work yet in your implementation.
It wasn't my intention to have the additional harvest tiers added to progression, which is why I didn't update the quests.

For something like TolkeinCraft or heavier themed modpacks, its good. It doesn't quite fit in with what I want. I liked the idea of replacing tool parts and leveling up your tool, which is why I added Iguana Tweaks. =)

You should insert a Tinkers' quest line with IguanaTweaks instead of vanilla tools (so flint -> copper -> smeltery -> level up tool etc). I was really surprised I had to actually craft vanilla wooden tools in this modpack.

That's one of the major questlines planned : Tinkers Construct and associated mods (Iguana, Mechworks, etc)

Hey, sorry to bother you but i run my sever using creeperhost and for some reason i am unable to set up this modpack bu simply using the pack code on the website. Instead i have to use cyberduck to upload it myself that isnt the best with my awful connection . I asked about this problem and they said 'Sometimes private packs aren't assembled correctly by the pack authors and our panel can't read them.'

I was just wondering if you would have any idea on how to fix this?
In no way am I hating on the pack just think if you were able to fix it some how it would be amazing.

Keep up the good work :D

I'm not sure how they want it 'assembled correctly'. I set up the server download like Infinite and other official modpack server zips are set up (at least, I believe I did...). Could you inquire further on how their panel is trying to read it?

Have you considered Mariculture @Caigan ?
It was initially in the pack, but mariculture tends to be a pretty heavy mod. I had some issues with it and some other mods interacting (I don't remember what, though, that was around when I first started putting the pack together last year), and I prefered some of the other mods over it (not that its a bad mod, its pretty good honestly)

Does any one have a good world seed? Something that you spawn in a plains or meadows biome? Would be even better if it was in a village. I have never really been lucky when using BoP, but I really like the mod and how it gens the world. I just spend more time running around looking for a good place to call home I never start to actually play. Great pack by the way, Thank you for the work you put in to bring it to us:)

Caigan, I tried installing server and connecting, lots of mod mismatches. Is the Server version from FTB not 0.0.5??

Weird, I just downloaded it and got the right server version. Make sure you have 0.0.5 selected before hitting download server.

Caigan, I am pretty sure I did. I will download it again though. I am running a Tolkiencraft server, but was going to spin up one of these too.

---- downloading it again now

---- Looking at the Ferret Business Changelog in the zip.

Update, must have been something wrong with my download or my transfer to my server (Dell 2850 here in my home office.) -- That's a 2U Server chassis not a desktop PC.

I can give IP and port number to people interested in joining.

I am connected now with all GREEN.

The second I saw the pictures and the quest bit, I was immediately like "No way, this is like Pathfinder + Infinity + Regrowth + All kinds of stuff..."
Probably best modpack I've seen so far... I love it so much <3
