It looks like Reika made a bug report to ITT about harvest levels... I suspect the issue with nether quartz is related to the Platinum problem mentioned earlier... minable by the wrong level.

Tinker's Construct bow with lava crystal modifier upon leveling.
Huh? I don't care for a Fiery modifier, if that's what you mean. I care about the higher arrowspeed, as there's no modifier for it and it's only affected by bowlimbs.

Ah. Sorry. Shows what I know about Natura, huh?

The Flamestring gives a multiplier for draw speed, arrow speed and durability. 1.1 Draw, 1.2 Durability and Arrow Speed. Afaik, the Fiery modifier from it doesn't work anyways (also, it would be on the bow, not the arrows/bolts, so yea..)
As you can decrease draw speed with redstone, but no way to increase arrow speed, it's usually way superior to a normal bowstring :)
As little as I care about the rest it adds, that alone is reason enough for me to add it in pretty much every pack I played yet :p

Well, if it weren't for the performance issues, I would have added that and Aether II; Fortanono brought that combo to my attention, and it sounds pretty sweet. But I won't test that until I have a stable, reliable modpack in place first.

On a side note, I may have found out why the WAILA/RoC issues are in place, but I'm going to have to test a workaround when I get home before announcing it. Additionally, all associated mod authors regarding WAILA+addons, RxC, and Iguana's Tinker Tweaks are notified of the issues we've had so far, so all we can do is wait.

Never thought Natura would have much of an impact on performance...
Also, not really a bug, but you might wanna rethink oregen for the nether. It's ridiculously easy to find ore, compared to the overworld and all the netherore (from the actual mod netherore i mean, not tinkers/vanilla ores. though especially the ticon ore is found in ridiculous numbers as well) are basically 2 of their overworld counterparts, so you're getting ridiculous amounts of it. Not sure if intended. Sure random lava n stuff makes it a bit more dangerous than overworld mining, but it doesn't feel like it justifies the amount you get out of it.
On that note, animals are spawning in quite the numbers as well. I probably have around 60 cows and 30 sheep/pigs (each) around my base. Won't even start counting the amount of squid.. That together with the part where a cow drops about 6+ beef/raw hide, results in ridiculous numbers.

The amounts are based on the source to Nether Ores itself, divided by 24. I can probably change the form the oregen takes, but I'm hesitant to change the amounts. Although I could just remove the mod altogether... or, since I think I licked the explosion/pigmen/custom oregen problem, I might just re-enable angered pigmen, exploding ores, and hellfish to see what happens. And remember... there are different sizes and varieties of pigman (such as vampire pigmen).

Well, maybe I just got lucky. Found like 15 diamond ore right next to the portal. Having stuff like sulfur "encased" in lava makes for... interestening lava behavior, though. :p
Didn't mine too much of the NetherOre ores yet, so maybe it seemed just plenty to me. Also since most of it is easy to spot.
TiCon ores should be tuned down, though. Got like 1 1/2 stacks ardite from a single vein and didnt even mine it completely. Saw about 4+ cobalt veins as well, already. I always had the feeling it was supposed to be somewhat rare stuff :p (given how I usually search about 30mins for a few pieces of ardite... I'll probably never again need to search for it in this world)

Oh, so that's disabled. Read somewhere using a pick with silk touch prevents explosing/angering pigmen as well, though. (which is what I tried, but as it's disabled anyways, figures it "worked"...)

I'll look into the TiC ores; I'm pretty sure I interpreted the source code correctly, but maybe need to recheck my assumptions. Maybe while I'm at it, I can change pipe vein configs to spawn ore only when surrounded by base non-air blocks. Or maybe I'll just prevent the lava from spawning in contact with air.

With the Nether Quartz, is that because it's being handled by Nether Ores? All Nether Ores drop as an ore block and there is a config option to have Nether Quartz affected in the same way. All silk touch does in that case is stop the zombie pigmen from being angered by you 'stealing' their ores.

Natura: If you wanted, I have a config file for Natura that uses very sparse generation. Ore berries are gone from world gen completely (including the XP Essence Berries). The berry bushes are still available via trades with villager Blacksmiths. I've made those mega giant redwood trees are rarer than PhD's at Donald Trump fundraiser (but they make a great treehouse) and all clouds are turned off. The woods are pretty, the doors, windows and trapdoors, etc that you can make with them are cool (cause no Malisis Doors *sadface*) and, as Rewyn pointed out, it makes for some good resources.

I could send it to you to see what you think.

Regarding Waila: in my game without Agricraft, the wheat doesn't show up at all.

Ore Flowers: I'm having no trouble with the Affine indicating for Aluminium (as it's spelled by those who don't say "nucular" bomb ;)). I'm using Tinkers for my aluminium and it indicates for both the regular ore and the sparse underground gravel ore. I guess I should test it for Bauxite and other types of aluminium.

Journey Map.. you're not using the fairplay or NoRadar version of journey map?? I use no minimap at all (use Explorercraft which takes a craptonne of paper) but if anyone is using it, why-o-why are they using the radar?

PS. What do you think about removing Ardite, Cobalt, etc. from veins? Just let it generate in the standard manner

First of all, it's spelled differently for different mods (disregarding of how it's actually called), the TiCon one is the Aluminium, but pretty much all others are spelled Aluminum. Also, the one used in this pack is from electricraft, so maybe there's the issue?

removing Cobalt/Ardite from veins would work I'd say. It's not something you (usually) need a lot of. So having 2-3 pieces of ore here and there would be highly preferred compared to having a big ass vein, that you have to search for, for ages to find it.

First of all, I stand corrected on the -um/-ium ending (it's not archaic, so much as localised), and will thusly shut up on the issue.

Second, I can test the removal of the TiC nether ore veins and see what happens.

Third, as for Natura, like I said, I plan to experiment with it and Aether II once we've resolved the issues surrounding WAILA, WAILA Plugins, WAILA Harvestability, and Iguana's Tinker Tweaks, as well as tweaking the oregen a bit.

Finally, I can't really claim credit for JourneyMap. I altered the recipe to remove it as a required mod before this pack was submitted to the launcher. I had decided that it should be replaced by "Antique Atlas," which is happily also in this modpack, but must be made (using a compass and a book) and protected (since making a second book means starting from scratch), while still providing long-range mapping and waypoint marking, but without all the overworld overlay stuff. If you choose to, you can always disable JourneyMap. ;)

It made me look up the etymology of the word, so I'm not upset. If there's one thing I like less than looking like I'm wrong, it's actually being wrong. ;)

Yes, that was due to an error in uploading the updated pack. Please bear with us; the corrected pack has been submitted; we're just waiting for the FTB people to update it.

Another small issue, you can't repair Ferrous tools with Nickel Ingots. So you have to smelt your Nickel Ingots in the smeltery, to make Ferrous out of it before you can repair your tools.
I guess TiCon doesn't use the oredict ones for repairing? Is it possible to add a repair material to it, so you can use Nickel directly?
Or would it be possible to enable smelting Flakes in the smeltery, so instead of "Ore->Flakes->Nickel Ingots->Molten Nickel->Ferrous Ingots" you could go "Ore->Flakes->Molten Nickel->Ferrous Ingots"? (Smeltery makes Ferrous ingots out of molten nickel, in case that isn't clear :p)
