Just to add a few numbers to help -

Diluted mana pools hold 10,000 mana
Non-diluted mana pools hold 1,000,000 mana
Day blooms produce roughly 2 - 3 mana per second

So... filling a non-diluted mana pool with daybooms is going to take awhile.

Actually, it's a bit slower than that. It actually produces 1 mana every 1.5 seconds, or 2/3 M/S, on average. For the following math, we assume a 20-daybloom setup producing non-stop at maximum efficiency.

So to fill a diluted pool, it would take around 750 seconds, or 12.5 minutes.

For a regular pool, it takes 75,000 seconds, or 1250 minutes, or 20.8 hours. And that's the best-case scenario.

Oh, speaking of dungeon loot, I found a block of railcraft steel in a witchery circle, and looking at the script it seems like steel is meant to be disabled, just the block was missed. So might need to be fixed @thephoenixlodge

I avoided using it though, would have skipped so much progression, even though I actually had alumite at the time haha.

And is using Pig Iron intended as a normal way to mine thaumium level ore? I put a diamond on my alumite pick which got to thaumium level, but are you really meant to get thaumium first? Because that's a lot of work into magic mods before you can get into titanium or steel, even though you come up against quests requiring that stuff fairly early on...

Anyone know which generating flora in Botania produces the most mana? I wish the Lexica Botania would give some sort of ranking this.

Everyone uses endoflames or themalillies and I want to try something else but don't want to bother if they are going to produce 10% of what a thermalilly would produce.

Well, themalillies are heavily nerfed in vanilla botania now, they have a long cooldown between generating cycles, something like 1/10th of what they were before when they ran full time. TNT flowers are quite good, and fun to set up, but I haven't checked the recipe in the pack... The cake and leaf eating flowers are up there in terms of mana generation tho iirc

There's a crash specific to railcraft I've been getting, I'm not sure if it's fixed in the latest version of the mod, but with some research I found a work-around where adding:

-XX:CompileCommand=exclude,mods.railcraft.common.blocks.aesthetics.lantern.BlockLantern::func_149666_a

to the java commands is supposed to cause the function in question to be ignored, preventing the crash. It's a "silent" java crash, with no normal minecraft crash message, the game just closes randomly, but you can find a "hs_err_pid#####.log" in the "base" minecraft folder of the modpack that looks like this:

So if anyone else is experiencing that, maybe that java argument will help. I'm not too familiar with the FTB launcher, but I think you just paste it into the "Additional Java Parameters" field in the advanced options. It's rare enough that I wont know if it works or not unless I crash again, which could take another 12+ hours of playing.

Hey that thing happened again. i logged in to the game and turn around and this time 1 of my 2 Crucible Furnaces was gone. I have also notice people's lps where they have tools go missing. Think something is causing items to disappear?

So what would be the right text in my jar file and what file do you mean the serverstart jarfile or the forge-1.7.10-10.13.2.1277-universal file?

Is your lighting normal lighting, or glowstone in carpenters blocks? the carpenters blocks can be a bit buggy I read somewhere.
I had some zombie issues which ended up being me checking F7 while the furnace was running...

Just wanted to say thanks to Thephoenixlodge for what is so far the most enjoyable pack I've played yet - and I thought I liked tech mods not this farming stuff. Once the gate for a new resource is open the effort to obtain more of it becomes less - this is something many pack creators haven't caught onto.

I am still early game. i have not even go to the nether to get glowstone so i am using torches. I am walled in and f7 showed there was no spawnable spots. I didn't have a furnace running either

Yeah, they're bounded to the pool, the dayblooms are in a mostly checkerboard pattern.. and even still with a 1 million mana pool, there should be some signs of movement

Despite the numbers people are throwing at you, dayblooms are pretty decent drop and forget generators. You only really need to either move past them or expand them greatly once you want to get into terrasteel or duping. Just the dayblooms you get as quest rewards should be more than enough to progress through all the runes and magical seeds you need, they have been for me so far, I'm not even using the hydroangeas since they are a waste of space.

Check to make sure all your dayblooms are linked to the spreaders, they only have a ~5 block range and can become unlinked if you move a spreader after placing them. Also something a lot of people don't realize is you can conserve space by placing dayblooms on different levels directly next to each other, so make a checkerboard of dirt and place dayblooms on top and in the gaps, filling the space completely, there are no diminishing returns with a 1 block height difference.
