Blue Slime is a superior Tinker's Construct tool material, especially for Tool Rod durability.
Unless Regrowth changed it it's only good for tool rods and exceptional bow parts. Slime crystal is useless for head pieces. You end up with an incredibly slow tool with a lot of durability. Stacking full redstone on it only just gets you to a reasonable speed.

I mean, frankly, this is all I would ever use either Slime for anyway. Who makes a Slime Sword Blade and expects something good? :p

EDIT: If you think about it, it takes an entity of Slime almost twice as large as the player to even inflict damage! How useful is a tiny Blade or Pickaxe Head made of the stuff going to be?

A noob who has misinterpreted what a pro said thinking that it was a superior material all round...
You are 100% right about it being superior but you might want to clarify that you mean as just a tool rod/bow limb.
Of course they could also just read the "smeltery and you" books and not rely on outside help. The book is actually very clear as to how crap it is as a tool head.

You know how some shtupid people like staring at bricks or sheets of paper. Sometimes those bricks have squiggly lines and markings on them.
Aparently that's reading.
Worthless skill to be quite honest. Lol

Several ways, Depending on your luck with RNG, you can get them with mutandis. Caving can yield mushrooms, tho they can be on par with RNG thru mutandis. Sometimes i end up getting them by going to the nether and starting my mushrooms that way.

You can also breed them, can't you? Look up "Spores" in NEI; check "Brown Mushroom Spores" and "Red Mushroom Spores" to see if there's an AgriCraft-style recipe enabled in Regrowth. There should be, I dunno how I had 2-3 stacks of each if there wasn't.

The problem with the mushroom spores is that they need to be planted/bred onto mycelium. You can also use a Moistener from forestry to get myclium via seeds and wheat, it's kinda a hassle to use though.

Toss either Vanilla Mushroom into a Mana Pool to get Infestation Spores, which turns a bunch of Dirt into Mycelium when you right click it. Like Pasture Seeds but for fungi. Do that with the next Mushrooms you get and then mutate into cross crops on top of your new Mycelium. Until then, if you have no Mushrooms at all, it's the ol' RNG for you.

So just curious - is this pack done and down for the count? As far as I knew it wasn't complete - there's a bunch missing from blood magic and other mods but I haven't seen an update on this pack in months.

"O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!” He chortled in his joy." And now to contemplate (over a glass of Single Malt) the question of the universe: Do I restart completely or see what hassle the update process has in store? (Secondary question: The McClelland or the Glen Fiddich Solaris Reserve? Or break open the Dewars?) [He stands, frozen in indecision, before the liquor cabinet.]

Due to heavy worldgen changes - i'd guess most will want to restart. I suppose there nothing stopping you carrying on with an old world, you'll just get teh usual cliffhangs at the edges of where you finished exploring.

Because of Climate Control, you actually won't really get those sharp transitions between old and new chunks. However, since 0.8 includes updating to mekanism 8, be aware that if you have any mek stuff you run the risk of world corruption, so I would advise to delete anything you have from mek from the world if you plan to continue with an old world.
