Question: so i dont have to deal with arguments in the client, what the hell is mapwriter called in the mc folder / edit modpack menu?

I use Satanic Santa's Java args for my client and have been happy. Besides the usual GT slow start-up and 1.7 being slower than 1.6 in general, my client has been stable.

I can't get my GT large bronze boiler to accept solid fuel input. Both the water input hatch and the fuel input hatch want to accept liquid. I have tried breaking the hatch out and replacing it. I also read about using a screwdriver on it, but a right-click makes a wrench sound and has no noticeable effect, and a left click does nothing.

Anyone know how to change an input hatch from liquid to solid? Thanks!

Its funny, I had the exact opposite problem.

You want an Import Bus for your solid fuels I believe, rather than a hatch. Similar to your EBF if you have one.

I currently have a chest -> item conduit -> import bus arrangement, so that I can pile tons of planks in at a time. Note that a hopper cannot reliably replace the item conduit because the boiler eats planks faster than a hopper can move them :p

I'm going to try this... I was thinking about taking the logs from a tree farm, smelting into charcoal using enderio alloy furnace, then using charcoal for steam production, especially since 1 log = 2 plants auto crafting normally.
Or are you using some other way to get more planks from the logs?

I wish. I'm manually planking my logs when I need to and its a pita. To a certain extent I'm also leveraging charcoal from coal coke ovens, but a lot of that is slated for steel production.

My only hangup with the alloy furnace change is I'm too lazy to work out how efficient it is power-wise. IIRC, you're turning a 300 unit log into a 1600 unit charcoal, where unit is "burn time". How does burn time translate into RF/MJ? How much RF does it cost to transform the log?

Your asking the wrong person when it comes to the math, I'm terrible at it but I do see your point. The way I'm planning might he more wasteful overall and yours may be more efficient. I have no idea :p

Oh, no i was asking how i disable it so it dosnt conflict with other mapping mods, i wanted to test Journey map out and well, since i couldnt find it in the mod list i couldnt disable the bugger!
@Jason McRay, i couldnt find an option to disable the map in the configs folder, so i had to disable opis entirely ...im getting a slight drop in framerate, but nothing serious thus far.
What exactly does Opis do anyway? ive googled around for it but im not convinced im getting the whole story...

Opis is diagnostic mod which allows you to found what is lagging, whats causing fps drops etc....

To disable mapwritter, all you need to do is edit mapwritter.cfg and set the minimap option to 0. It will still be available, but it will not show the minimap. Another solution is to press N in game, to get rid of the minimap. You cant disable mapwritter as a whole, since it is integrated part of opis ti find laggy chunks, TP to laggy blocks.

I fell off the world today, went sailing in my boat and suddenly without rhyme or reason ... i fell and just kept falling, tabbed out to check the diagnostic screen and it was 60k ms behind, skipping well over a thousand ticks, hopped into creative mode and left the inventory open to see if it would render any new chunks, 5 mins passed and nothing happened.
Upon closing, rebooting and reloading the game it seems that the last 3 mins of the map i played failed to save o_O (or did it revert to a backup?) but i am able to continue exploring now, i've never seen minecraft do this before!
Not long afterwards i had to close the game again due to intolerable lag from NEI, when i looked at the console it was talking about saving some kind of permissions strip from secret rooms mod?

Blegh. 1.7.10 errors. I think if you upgrade to the most recent NEI, you should be good in that regard. And FastCraft fixes most of the generation lag.

Best way to find diamonds is look for low (level 10-30) coal veins. They will contain diamonds.

Also I would like to thank @SpwnX for really good mod suggestions. And of course you all who are playing the pack. The best reward modpack maker can receive is good feedback and seeing that you are really enjoying the pack.

Thank you a lot

Thanks for making the pack. It's my first time using Gregtech. I've banged my head a few times trying to understand what is going on, but I'm overcoming my noobness and it's starting to click, and I must say, I'm enjoying it.

Great pack so far, @Jason McRay . The only complaints/bugs we've found so far are related to either vanilla MC 1.7.10 or else minor bugs in certain mods that are easily worked around. The inter-mod interaction, balancing, and your scripts are working perfectly :)

Yesterday when i was preparing the update i started up Minecraft, went to toilet, made a coffee, had a smoke and when I returned, it was still loading :( It was really annoying and highly time consuming to just stop minecraft, do little config change and start it back up... so I tried to do the research on why the heck it is loading so slow... In my tests I was able to start the pack in under 3 minutes. Binnie's Mods are causing this huge delay (up to even 20 minutes loading time). It has been already reported, so hopefully the fix will be soon.

Thanks, Jason. 3 minutes is pretty darn quick compared to how long it takes our clients w/Binnie's. Issue Tracker for this issue here. Please consider visiting and voting.

However, it will be hard to give it up now. My bee breeding and production has come to rely upon a few of his machines and bees species. However, most of the breeding has been done using base Forestry breeding techniques and Oblivion frames. God, those things are wonderful when paired with a Thaumic Tinkerer Restorer.

Few issues has been brought up on the surface:
- Chisel mod Chisel tool is not craftable due to conflict. To fix this set the value chiselAlternateRecipe to true in your chisel.cfg file inside config folder - Will get fixed in v1.1.3
- Thaumcraft Focus of Excavation is not craftable, due to badly registered recipe of emerald in Binnie's Mods. Workaround is to use Minetweaker/Modtweaker and force register it in there (will not post a script in here, since if you will mess a thing, it can break something else) - Will get fixed in v1.1.3

edit: About the Emerald... its hard to explain, but basically the recipe in Thaumcraft now requires the GT-ERR-01 "version" of emerald, which is "made" with ExtraBees fragments. Same goes with Ruby, Sapphire and Diamond. Normal recipes should be intact, but some of them will cease to work (you have a permission from me to "cheat" the focus and other stuff with the exchange of the materials) :)

Ah....hah hah hah. That explains why we couldn't craft it. The recipe was ghosting as complete in the Arcane Crafting Table, but when we tried to pull it out, it would 'resist' being pulled.

We cheated it in and tossed the ingredients.

The Arcane Bore has proven to be a very useful mining tool with the way GT 5 generates ores. We haven't found a good use for the BC or eIO quarry, yet. We may use it in The End.

Ah that is good to know. My 1.7 pack just isnt worth playing with load times like that, and Im not even all that interested in bees-I just figured I would give it a try and see what the fuss is all about. I was considering infitech as I am interested in having a gregtech world but since its probably very dependent on bees, I suppose I wont.
