A thaumium tool rod sounds good. Maybe one of those creative golden heads. The ones that give you an extra modifier if the it's for the right item. I would say a pickaxe one of those, that way they can use it for any pickaxe and only a pickaxe.
Who uses a pick when they're chopping trees and breeding bees? (nature) :p
Edit: do you think the luggage thing from openblocks would be too op in that early game?

Right! Didn't think of that. Maybe a sword then? Which sword idk. Maybe a Broadsword because its like the basic minecraft sword. Or maybe all 4

I think scythe might be cool depending on what it's made of (hit a bunch of mobs at AND take down lots of grass/ leaves in one swipe)

YEAH! Wow I never thought of that! I saw a guy use it as an AoE weapon. That sound great, but what do you mean what is it made of??
I don't want it to be too much of advantage at the beginning and take down mobs in one shot, etc.(but you can always change parts with iguanatweaks)... Maybe pig iron (i think that might actually hit too hard for a beginning weapon, i need to look at the values for it again) or maybe slime (high dura, low damage)

WAIT! You do realize that the golden head creative thing is an add on to your weapon, but is set for a certain kind of weapon. It's not a actual tool, it's a part that you add on to your own tool and it gives you an extra modifier.

I mean I might give an actual pre-made scythe made out of a yet to be determined material and maybe I'll give a golden head (for sycthe or maybe some other tool) as well. They might end up in different secret locations.

That sounds like a great idea! Also, before you suggested Luggage from OpenBlocks and That sounds like a good one too. It costs a diamond to make, however, so I don't know if you would want that to be a things at so early in the game or not, but idk. Talk to you tomorrow :)

last thing: I might end up making a scavenger hunt for the golden head modifiers or something. o/

Wow! That honestly sound amazing!! You should totally do it!
added the scavenger hunt to the to do list, I think I should try to find/ fix any major bugs I can find before I create an (albeit fun) extra feature... might end up doing little bits of it along the way anyway though. :D

I spent an hour today adding named Pigmen and nether copper, tin, lead, ferrous, and silver ore to a nether fortress near the tech world spawn. Also made the fortress halls generally more nether-like. Adjusted some config settings for ores spawning. Lowered the amount of string needed for beginning quest, changed sunflower quest to detection and increased how many you need by a tiny bit. I saw that the pam's harvestcraft presser isn't there for one of the nature quests, it's not loading in nei and it's not being overwritten (as far as i can tell), so I'm looking into it.

Edit: I'll just change the quests that require the presser for now and upload those changes.

They only upload (new packs, pack updates) on Thursdays and Fridays. I sent my request on Sunday (or maybe it was Saturday. whatever.) No response from that pm yet though.

Since most of the major game-breaking bugs seem to be fixed now, I think I'll slow down updates and make it one a day at most, might be less than that. Still working on it with just as much effort, just with less urgency to upload asap now. Oh and fyi: I start school (as a senior in high school) again next week so I may become less responsive and etc. at that time.

I sent the pm for that already. The 3rd party modpack team only upload on Thursdays and Fridays according to the post they have about submitting packs.

I wasn't aware it couldn't... I'll fix it.
Edit: it was just a difference of it having the forge.json in the right place(in the patches folder), it seems. Uploading now. Uploaded.

I just saw that you can't really do the choose again thing the way I have the quests set up now. Thought setting all the choosing ones to repeatable would make the other choices visible and completable again. nope. :( Trying to figure out a way to fix it and still keep it the way I intended.
Edit: I think I'm going to have some open mystcraft portals that exist in a separate dimension. And they close again after you use one. They all open 3 minecraft days later and stay open until you use one again (will probably need chunkloaders and wireless redstone for this).

So how do I put it in to multimc cause I want to play bad
step 1. make new 1.6.4 instance.
2. click instance folder.
3. grab the minecraft and patches folders from my pack.
4. move both over to the instance folder, overwriting that instance's minecraft folder.
5. (not totally necessary to play, but recommended) pick a questline config folder and copy its contents into the config folder of the minecraft folder you just copied over (if that makes sense).
6. Launch.
If you have any more questions/ problems, just ask.[DOUBLEPOST=1408566286][/DOUBLEPOST]
Oh and make sure your PermGen and max memory allocation are at least 256 and 2048 MB respectively.
Edit: I just cleaned up this guide and added it to the OP.
