I am, very excited. I've been holding off on starting a new world for about two weeks now in hopes of a 1.5 pack (I'm one of those obnoxious peeps who start over frequently).

I will heavily modify the 1.5 pack, so I may wind up just building my own.
What do you plan to add? I'd ask what you'lltake out but we ddon't know what's going to be in it yet lol

Presuming an IC2 build of 304, you should be on Gregtech 3.02c, not b, and advanced machines 4.9

Yeah I finally found the newest GregTech but some reason advanced machines 4.9 just doesn't work for me with industrialcraft-2_1.115.304. Doesn't matter too much since I didn't really use those machines too often.

I guess it really depends on what's in there. Hopefully Ars Magica and Tinkers Construct/Natura will be in. But aside from those, I might add Witches and More, and maybe some sort of dungeon pack (in case you can't tell, I love new world gen stuffs, and reasons to explore). I also play on replacing XLBiomes with Biomes O Plenty. I'm still surfing to see if anything else stands out.

I'll likely disable the add-ons for mods I don't use much (like compact solars, etc) assuming they are in there.

MY world files are huge because of my exploring. I'd be interested in anything you know of that could add to that. I love exploring myself. Its fun to find loot in a strange structure and just see what these worlds can offer before I settle into building stuff. Exploring is also a great break from the gadgetry. Doesn't Ars Magica add a lot of new structures?

It does.

You might also like Dimensional Doors and the other biome generators like Biomes O Plenty and Highlands. Natura and Tinker's Construct come to mind as having fun worldgen. The nether is spiced up by these as well. Atum is a whole new Twilight-forest like dimension people are stoked on. Underground Biomes can also add a lot of flavor to adventuring. Have you ever gone adventuring to find a quarry for a particular color of stone? :D You can, now.[DOUBLEPOST=1366766080][/DOUBLEPOST]

I'd like to point you at Dimensional Doors as well. It's one of he very few mods besides Twilight Forest and Mystcraft that has sucked our entire server into adventuring. It's also killed or stranded a fair number of us 30-50km from home.

It does, and frankly that might be enough to get me started. I'm not a very good builder, so I get frustrated with myself and set off to find awesome loot.

@KirinDave - I'll check that out for sure - thanks!

Well, since I just found out RR was more than you and WoT doing LPs, I'm surprised you ever considered two different packs.

Well we've discovered what causes it to crash. Forestry Multiblock farms use blocks which have the same blockid and the same metadata...for different blocks. This is unique in the mod universe.

By the way, I discovered it. Mekanism does something bad. Presumably because it's a totally broken mod only there for worldgen while the author pretends to fix it.

I just tried out dimensional doors and am bummed that depth doesn't increase the distance traveled. Sure, I can use it to make shortcuts between one point and another, but I still have to walk that distance(or use nether portals) to get there to begin with.

@KirinDave I think Atum is the mod DW20 & Searge mentioned in the modjam overview. I'm very interested. it seems i could make an awesome adventure pack with a lot of these mods. alas i have no technical experience to put them together unless they work well together. It'd be cool to have them with a splash of thaumcraft & enough tech to automate resource gathering

If by 'mentioned' you mean 'showed off a little', then yeah, that was it and it was very interesting. (And more useful than all those silly hats :p)

We get you have a hard-on for metallurgy, Kirin. ;)

So when do we find out the private code for the 1.5.1 test?

I prefer the term, "Bonertown USA."

And actually it's been pissing me off. It's not the primary ore generator anymore.

Ugh, Metallurgy. I tried, REALLY tried to like the mod. Eventually it ended up being the same issue for me as GregTech: It adds progression purely for the sake of having progression, and makes a mess of things to do it. Tinker's Construct is much more the sort of mod that I had hoped Metallurgy would be. After fighting endlessly with metallurgy ore spawning in an attempt to get even Vanilla quantities of Iron, King Lemming added his ore spawn code to Thermal Expansion and I happily junked Metallurgy.
