That does it. We're getting you onto RR, dude. Every time I login there I feel like I am relearning minecraft from scratch. And the new MFR rednet stuff is also amazing.

Not having RP2 also gives you opportunities to use obscure automation tools from other mods. The arcane ear, for example, is pretty useful in the absence of cheap wireless redstone. And the new Translocators mod? Wild.
Have you been using AE to try and substitute? I imagine that might help.

What is this, RP anonymous!?

The pnumatic tubes man, I need my sorter injection!

You leave your piece of gear in and it can have more enchants added to it. Similar to how using enchanted books on a pre-enchanted item works.

Are you complaining that you can already do this with Vanilla?[DOUBLEPOST=1366758543][/DOUBLEPOST]
Is RR running on 1.5.1?

Yup. The drop tonight has almost everything AC has and then some. The only thing that's dragging everyone down is IC2. I can't integrate the GT alpha until IC2 settles down, because if it comes down to a fight between everything else and GT, everything else wins. Oh, and uh Immibis's latest microblocks is crashing in new ways so it currently has a blank cuttable config.

Really the only thing that bugs me about RR right now is that BoP is so slow to chunkgen. It can negatively impact gameplay to have your server spike to max usage because someone walks 9 chunks from spawn.

I've managed to get a 1.5.1 mini Ultimate running with MultiMC, so not really. Although I guess IDResolver is making a mess of my IDs and I haven't really started playing yet, so... maybe I'll give the pack a try once it's out.

I haven't found AE to be a substitute for anything I do with Red Power. Instead of substituting/replacing I find they complement each other.

Then again, I'm one of the few people who doesn't consider AE to be a sorting system. It is a storage method that removes the need for most static sorting, not by doing any sorting itself---though the display sorting/search options are very useful---but by consolidating all of your storage into one virtual container, the AE network. Since it is consolidated in one virtual container with a searchable interface the need for most sorting is removed.

I still use Red Power and BC Pipes to pre-sort the wheat from the chaff before dumping stuff into an AE system that requires constant power. Diamond pipe/filter/sorting machine to void pipe/pre-process crap/intermediate materials I don't want in the first place makes a lot more sense to me than paying the costs to transfer, input and then later on remove junk from an AE storage system.

Ahh well, IC2 304 has actually decided to be backwards compatible, and mods that weren't working (extrabees) now do, even without an update.

Oh, and uh Immibis's latest microblocks is crashing in new ways.

Hrm, I've been running 54.0.7 no problem.

I still get that forestry crash. But my old successful config file causes a name. Part of the problem I think is that I have Mekanism in the pack for Osmium generation. I regret this. Good to know about the API thing. That simplifies my life a lot.

Honestly I think RR, when it's done, WILL be AdvancingCraft. It's like everything we've talked about adding and none of the things we've really wanted to avoid. The only remotely controversial choices include ICBM and Magical Crops. Metallurgy got its shit together recently, as has Tinker's Construct. So I dunno why we'd keep the AC world and configs if we're not going for an actual map migration.

Now if only railcraft and xycraft would get done.

I am, very excited. I've been holding off on starting a new world for about two weeks now in hopes of a 1.5 pack (I'm one of those obnoxious peeps who start over frequently).

I will heavily modify the 1.5 pack, so I may wind up just building my own.

I finally was able to gather together a 1.5.1 mod pack. Downloading every mod was so tedious! I have most of the mods that were included in Ultimate (no RP2 of course). I had some trouble with GregTech and advancedMachines. I had to dig and find the proper dev build of Greg that was compatible with the latest dev build of IC2. So far I'm having fun starting over and can't wait to delve into the new mod update features.

Well, since I just found out RR was more than you and WoT doing LPs, I'm surprised you ever considered two different packs.

I still get that forestry crash.

Well we've discovered what causes it to crash. Forestry Multiblock farms use blocks which have the same blockid and the same metadata...for different blocks. This is unique in the mod universe.

But a config generated without forestry and then used (with autodetect turned off) works with no problem.

Presuming an IC2 build of 304, you should be on Gregtech 3.02c, not b, and advanced machines 4.9

Weren't allocators and water channels were the first automation?

Damn. Shut down, DoctorOr.

P.S. Immibis please please please let failures like the forestry failure not cause the config file write to halt. Even if you put an ERROR record I need to remove by hand, partial output would be helpful for trying to figure out where it collapsed. YOU seem to be able to read those microblock ids but I don't wanna decomp and read to figure out the mapping.

But a config generated without forestry and then used (with autodetect turned off) works with no problem.

I can attest that someone else is provoking a similar error. But I have a few UE mods included and sheesh those people. Who even knows what is going on with Mekanism at this point? It's been like FIVE green builds where right clicking on a Mekanism machine causes a crash in every machine in the mod unless you have the coderpack installed? It's outright crazy bad and it's been reported to the author on multiple channels.

Presuming an IC2 build of 304, you should be on Gregtech 3.02c, not b, and advanced machines 4.9

I'll give this a whirl if I can find the gregtech download link. That one is usually obscure. I know where to look for the rest.

Someone mentioned the cost of making rails for a SC treefarm, a few pages back. What cost? I still have heaps left over from abandoned mines :D

I'm a bit sad about the SC treefarm nerf, but I admit it was inevitable. I guess I'll need to put in a bit more effort in the future :p
