    Mushrooms can only be placed on blocks at light level 13 or less and they can't directly underneath the sky.

    Direwolf20 world crashes before even loading.

    Try deleting your player.dat file, you'll loose all your items but it should place you at your original spawn, which should break the endless loop sometimes caused when trying to generate marble.

    The Direwolf20 and Magic world modpack don't include advanced machines, if you want to add it yourself download it form here (http://forum.industrial-craft.net/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=4907) and place it in your mods folder

    Is just the soartex textures that aren't working? Try loading vanilla textures and see if they're connecting properly.

    There is definitely a disconnect between the modpack on the server and what your using on your client. Make sure you're not only using the same modpack ie mindcrack but also the same version of the modpack ie v8.0.1 instead of v7.

    Link Books GONE!

    Like ash said Mystcraft isn't part of the Mindcrack pack and the game will automatically remove any blocks/items that it doesn't recognize, including the linking books. If you still have your backups from before the switch you could add mystcraft to the mindcrack pack and run those old saves...

    Gregtech settings

    The server configs trump client in terms of what will actually work however all of the rendering (what appears to work in a crafting table and nei) is done client side. There's a page on the gregtech wiki that explains the config http://gregtech-addon.wikispaces.com/GregTech.cfg

    You can add gregtech. The error is probably config issues, I copied the gregtech config folder from the mindcrack pack and pasted it in the DW20 folder and haven't had any issues since.

    Best way to process diamonds

    You can macerate diamond and apatite or to get two of each gem. Macerating coal gives you two coal dust, so depending on what you want to use the coal or for you might have to smelt it to get a single piece of coal.

    Can you post a log there should be a file FTBLauncherLog in the same folder the launcher is in?
