[1.7.10] Survival industry [rotarycraft based tech]

Yep, but I can't figure out how to automate resin. Woodcutter with spruce tree doesn't produce any. Even TC lumber axe doesn't produce it. As far as I can tell, need to chop trees with axe. Maybe OC robot would work.

[1.7.10] Survival industry [rotarycraft based tech]

Curious how people are handling magma cream for jet fuel? I can hunt slimes, but would like to automate. Thinking of making slime trap with bait box.

[1.7.10] Survival industry [rotarycraft based tech]

This modpack appeals to me because of the original concept: balance a pack around rotarycraft with some other mods to fill in the spaces. It seems to me it does that elegantly in its current form. I'm worried that some of the proposed changes will turn it into just another tech pack.

The extractor emits a Redstone pulse when it cannot do any more work. Use this with a Redstone latch and a multiclutch with two lines of gears and it can self-regulate.

[1.7.10] Survival industry [rotarycraft based tech]

Late night, and I am swimming through a lake in the middle of the night on the way back to my base after yet another death. I hear a spider behind me, but I feel confident I can stay ahead. All of a sudden, I am paralyzed. It has cast a web at me and caught me. I turn to look at the spider...

Botania - An innovative natural magic themed tech mod (Not in beta any more!)

I have this weird thing going on where I have been happily playing Botania on Infinity for about a month (thank you, great mod) and now all of a sudden I am unable to get bind mode to work. I set my wand to bind mode, and then I shift right-click on something (e.g. a spreader) and nothing...

What mods to use alongside Rotarycraft(+ addons)?

Buildcraft plus logistic pipes for autocrafting on request. I've been using buildcraft in my rotarycraft pack and it is a pretty good pairing. The quarry of course is unnecessary. I've found pneumaticcraft to be a good fit as well, especially since it provides a source of slime for magna cream...

    RC/ReC/ElC/CC Policy Changes

One question: Isn't the modding community big enough to include people who have an artistic vision and want to protect it? You have choice. You can always create a mod yourself that conforms to your own vision. So why impose this notion that "anyone who makes a mod should be prepared to have...

Clever ways to power a bedrock breaker?

I’m using two microturbines. It's efficient -- two reservoirs of jet fuel are lasting a long time.

Making a Private Pack focused around RotaryCraft and Thaumcraft

Some other thoughts: there are biome ID conflicts between Twilight Forest and Chromaticraft Rainbow and Ender Forests, so be sure to fix that. Also, AE power was not working for a while after Reika changed his API, so make sure you get the latest AE beta. I agree that the goal is to make...

Making a Private Pack focused around RotaryCraft and Thaumcraft

I'm currently playing a similarly Reika centric pack I put together. I recommend including pneumaticcraft. It has a compatible feel to it, and you are going to want a way to harvest leaves for ethanol. Also, maybe you'll have better luck, but I was unable to load Railcraft without Buildcraft...

POSITIVE opinions on the Mojang Acquisition

You are always going to need some processing power on the receiving device for rendering and so on, but I agree that most of the load can be moved to the cloud.

POSITIVE opinions on the Mojang Acquisition

I have a Home Server. It died a few months ago. Microsoft has been all about the cloud for many years and I really think that's where they will go with Minecraft. Data would be stored in Azure and different clients could interact based on the capabilities of the host device. For example, a...

POSITIVE opinions on the Mojang Acquisition

MS moves MC to Azure. It adds a new, subscription based service allowing you and your friends to have a persistent world across all devices. It also adds a feature that allows worlds to link to create a multiverse. At the same time it adds a host of new clients to interact with your world in...

    Opinions on Microsoft buying Mojang

You can do the same for .NET. But the real issue is that people have become accustomed to hacking Minecraft (in the best way) due to the lack of an API, and now believe that is the only way to mod. That can work great until it doesn't and makes the game unstable. A good api with extensive hooks...

    Opinions on Microsoft buying Mojang

Java != modding And it is in Microsoft's interest to encourage modding. They can always screw things up, of course, but they have a consistent history of supporting third party development.

    Opinions on Microsoft buying Mojang

I'm betting on Windows 9 having Classic, Metro, and Minecraft interfaces. :p

    Opinions on Microsoft buying Mojang

MS monetizes enterprise development tools, but makes tools available for free to single developers/small shops. Again, they see it as in their interest for people to develop content for their platforms. And there is nothing wrong with C as a modding language. The vast majority of games are...

    Opinions on Microsoft buying Mojang

Historically, Microsoft's core business has been to create platforms like Windows, encourage people to build for the platforms, and then make their money from the licenses for the platforms. I or anyone else can develop an application for Windows without needing Microsoft's permission or paying...
