just tried it myself because of the ForgeMod.jar requirement of MCMA (till they patch it ;) and can confirm renaming of the server .jar file just works as long as you also use the startscript pointing to that file offcourse. (it's a new jar so you still need to overwrite the old one).

the screen is made on the server itself i see (localhost is green :P), I was more referring to an other computer on the locallan if he can connect by internal IP (the 192 ip) PS. i did write about the port :P

Those fall together :) normally you don't need to enther an IP only the port the server should be running on in your properties IF your portforwarding is done correctly and your server has a fixed ip-adres (either by entering manual or fixed by DHCP reservartion)

You could try it at the shop / home by just renaming it and see if it starts. If it does you should be able to use it on the host aswell ;)

Can you reach the server with an other pc within the same local lan? if not there is a config or firewall mistake. If you can it's a port mistake

i can't give the real answer to the question since i host my own servers, but in the past you could just rename the .jar files and everything does keep working (don't forget to edit the .sh or .bat file to match the name). Not sure about v5 though.

I have read quiet abit of problems with existing worlds today not working after the upgrade, does the server give an backup / upgrade function aswell. Ifnot you might wanna load it up in single player first and load it backup in th server afterwards ;) (always make a backup first offcourse)...
