I believe so. That release of Optifine (1.4.2 Ultra) was super buggy, and 1.4.5 was out before they fixed it. I believe the latest Optifine has that corrected, but it won't work in the 1.4.2 FTB pack.

This is actually caused by Optifine Ultra. If you don't have that installed, then that's a new one for me. :P

Overkill is underrated.

You can Macerate a Plantball into 8 pieces of dirt. This could allow your forestry farms to generate their own dirt. Either 8 saplings, leaves, wheat, sugar cane, or seeds can be used to craft a Plantball.

Rubber trees can spawn in any biome with trees, but they are most common in Swampland and Green Swampland biomes. I've had decent success finding them in Forest biomes as well.
