    I would generally avoid setting a max permsize, try using -XX:PermSize=256m and see if that helps. It shouldn't matter if it makes the game faster or not but it does give some mods that like adding a lot of things a bit more headroom to move around in.

    Curious, I used the FTB launcher args and my Minecraft seems to stop and start. Take them out and run with just PermSize=256m it all runs fine.     I would suggest removing your 32-bit Java installs and maybe consider adding a permgen command to the advanced java commands section. I recommend at least -XX:PermSize=128m. You could also try looking at this post here...

    I found some of the IDs were in conflict. Pretty easy to sort out though. It took me about another hour-ish going through various configs getting the balance I wanted myself.

    With the inclusion of the Monster pack I'm up to 198 mods. There was quite a few ID conflicts however as the various modpacks seem to be using seperate configs regardless of the universal configs. As such I may need to restart my world.

    I have done more of less this myself, mainly just picked the mods I wanted from all those packs and deleted some of the ones I will never use. Currently running at 174 mods on the menu screen. There were some conflicts to iron out but over all not too bad.

    I personally think we have a higher chance of seeing a Xycraft release by Christmas this year (tomorrow for me) then we do of seeing a RP release before minecraft 2.0. And I think that's being generous.

    It doesn't replace all the coal, just the ones usually in the ATG realm of things, in other words coal above 128 height.

    I don't see a problem with a power free lava gen to be honest. Lava is infinite once you get to the nether anyway (which is easily obtainable if you've managed to find 12 diamonds for the furnace anyway) and it provides a lag free alternative to chunkloading pumps in the nether.

    This is an issue caused by CoFH Core, and incorrect ID (ID 263) was told to generate instead of ID 16, which is coal. If your wondering it's in the CoFHWorld-Generation.cfg file under the heading atgcoalvanilla in the custom section. Changing the ID should fix the issue with new chunks but...
