Mystcraft does not have world generation so it doesn't prevent anything being released (as was proven by the other packs initially being released without it).

This is a known case with older end portals and causes where the old end was generated before the dragon was added. Those issues aren't an issue any more since the dragon was added a long time ago now. The most common problem is the end portal being damaged and there being no way to repair it...

I don't know where you got that from but its totally wrong. Servers have been using end portals for quite some time (look at Mindcrack for example). The issues with the breaking of end portals are annoying but at least we can create Mystcraft ages with strongholds to solve that issue :)

Minecraft does not ascribe to that philosophy as is clearly evident by the fact that the default mod is not hard. People who find it easy are likely to be advanced users who can modify configs to make it harder. The reverse is not necessarily true.
